This place is now called Gourmet Wok. If i could give it zero stars I would. The service was questionable. The waitress recommended dishes off the menu and overcharged us for it. If this wasn’t enough, knowing that we were tourists charged us 20% a LAX only tax on top of the usual tax. On top of this, when asked to call us a taxi, a private car was called which was barely road worthy. Such a horribly unforgettable night that will leave a scar in my dining experience of LAX.

While staying at the Hilton LAX, we ordered Kung Pao Beef and Fried Rice. The price was very reasonable and the portions were large. The guy who took the order was very polite and helpful and the food arrived 25 minutes later, piping hot and delivered to my room by an equally cheerful polite delivery person. If you’re staying near LAX, this is the place to call.

Mind you, the above ratings are second hand, but as an activist, I can only say BRAVO for deleting shark fin soup from their menu. Saw the news article from a friend and I want to congratulate them on their keen environmental awareness and sensitivity. Next time I am in LA (probably Spring), I’m bringing a bunch of friends in to patronize the restaurant! Peace, Amy

Excellent food in traditional surroundings. We were the only non-Chinese there, always a good sign. Service was great too!

Now called Gourmet Wok I’m afraid to try it because the service I received when it was called Flower Drum was terrible. I don’t know if the staff changed or just the name. The difference I do see is brown rice on the menu.
