This is a Chicago staple chain, but this is unique to the Quad Cities. The highlights were a snappy Polish sausage and golden fried crispy onion rings. The rings had great crunch and a buttery finish. The vanilla shake with a slice of cake in it is intense and thick. The teen me would have considered it a masterpiece. The hotdogs and burgers are better than you’ll find at other chains in the area.

It’s refreshing to find a place that has quick food service. Isnt overpriced had a modern atmosphere. And still has food that tastes good. We just got a hot Italian beef and chicken strips and split them. Chicken was ok. Italian beef was definitely good enough to try again. Maybe its because it’s new to me. But it seemed a lot healthier than McDonald’s, Hardee’s and Wendy’s. Etc.

It was my first time to this location. The outside of the building wasn’t as interesting as the Illinois locations and the interior was more subdued as well. If you’ve never been to the more local original stores then you wouldn’t know the difference.
Regardless, service was good and the place was clean.

Portillo’s has a great atmosphere filled with classic signs and neon, very fun and nostalgic. My Big Beef was solid. Service, however, missed the mark; the girl at the counter was rude and acted like she didn’t want to be there. Despite that, the food and vibe still make Portillo’s worth a visit.

Went here lastnight for dinner with my bf. It was our first time going and we were actually looking forward to it because of all of the good things we’ve heard. The atmosphere? Great, no complaints. However, the food was very… mid. We were like ok whatever it is what it is. Until my bf woke up in the middle of the night with terrible food poisoning. He got the bacon cheeseburger and didn’t even end up eating but a few bites because he said it tasted off, but he couldn’t put his finger on why. For this reason we definitely do not recommend, and will not be coming back.

We had never been here before. My kids were really excited. We got there right when it opened unbeknownst to us and walked to the counter and apologized that we weren’t ready to order and both a young lady that unfortunately I didn’t catch her name and Vanessa helped us order food for myself and 2 kids. They walked us through the menu and said what was popular and we’ve helped my youngest order who is usually very picky but loved his food. My oldest was absolutely stuffed after his bacon burger. I ended up taking half my sub home with me for later.
I think what made this such a joy of a stop was the conversation we had with Vanessa after we finished eating. She told us about the history of the restaurant and about Pokie the mascot which is the original owners own doxxie. We will definitely be back.

I tried Italian beef sandwich and it was good but a little bit bland. Meat has a very good flavor and texture. Also like that they serve a dipping cheese sauce, really liked it. I waited for my order for 10 minutes which felt like too long but it was worth it.
