Chef Doug brought his talents and recipes from Oregon. Lauren his business partner and the staff were super friendly and nice and will tell you all about their menu and how they got to selling sandwiches in Harrisonburg.

As a Chef myself, I am incredibly picky about where I eat, but Münch is the real deal. I had the Meatball Sub and it was phenomenal perfectly seasoned and served on a high-quality hoagie. But the absolute sleeper hit was the Japanese-style potato salad. It has this amazing velvety texture with the perfect hit of dill, cilantro, and specialty hot peppers that Chef Doug sources from out west. You can taste the intention in every bite. Harrisonburg is lucky to have this West Coast culinary energy on Market Street. Highly recommend

Awesome little spot to stop in for lunch!!

The restaurant is cozy and clean, and the staff are friendly. There is an open layout and you can see your food being made. The ingredients are FRESH, and I mean FRESH and tasty!

There are quite a few sandwiches to choose from, and you better bring an appetite because they are awesomely huge depending on what you order!

I had the Ham sandwich. It was phenomenal! Apple butter adds a whole new layer of flavor! It’s so freaking good!

There are side items to choose from as well. Chips, macaroni salad, Caesar salad, cookies (that are ginourmous) and brownies.

There are limited places to sit, so be sure to give yourself a little time unless you’re carrying out.

I highly recommend checking this place out! It’s a welcome addition to downtown Harrisonburg!!

Nice cozy atmosphere. Went during lunch so, they were a little busy but the wait wasn’t bad at all (about 10 minutes). I got the turkey dill and over all it was a delicious sandwich. The dill slaw was great although a little more crunch and this sandwich is outta the park. Between the slaw and the pickles it makes it just a bit to wet for my liking. I certainly recommend! And I Will return to try more from the menu

Wonderful new sandwich shop in downtown Harrisonburg. Not your normal run of the mill sandwiches. They are definitely unique and so so tasty. Chef Doug knows how to meld flavors together. Their cookies and brownies are exceptional too! One of my favorites is their potato salad. The best I ever had. I’ve been 3 times already and look forward to going again!

Our office recently ordered from Munch for an office lunch meeting, and it was absolutely fantastic! I walked in with 7 orders, and they had everything prepared quickly, neatly packaged, and clearly labeled.

Every single person in our office loved their sandwich. The portions were generous, fresh, and filling. The potato salad and macaroni salad are truly one of a kind, so flavorful and delicious!

The restaurant itself is very clean, organized, and the staff was friendly and efficient! Highly recommend!

Such a lovely atmosphere, friendly service and we tried 5 different sandwiches (turkey, meatball, buffalo chicken, roast beef and the kids grilled cheese) and they were all very good. The portions are huge.

★★★★★ Absolutely the best sandwich spot in town!
Münch is the real deal—downtown Harrisonburg just got a serious upgrade with this place! I stopped in shortly after they opened, and wow, these sandwiches are next-level. Huge portions, premium ingredients, and creative flavors that feel fresh and local-inspired.
I went with the ham on sourdough baguette—perfectly balanced with flavored mayo, dressed arugula, and all the right touches. It was massive, flavorful, and left me stuffed in the best way. My friend got the buffalo chicken and couldn’t stop raving about how tender and spicy it was without being overwhelming. Sides like the crisp deli salads were spot-on too.
The vibe is welcoming and chill, owners Emily and Doug clearly pour passion into every order (you can tell from the quality). Quick service even when busy, super clean spot, and right on Main Street—perfect for lunch or a quick bite.
If you love real sandwiches made with care, Münch is a must-try. Already planning my next visit to work through more of the menu. 5 stars aren’t enough—highly recommend supporting this new local gem!
Be calm and Münch on!

Downtown’s new sandwich obsession—worth every bite!
Just discovered Münch on Main Street and I’m officially hooked. This place nails what a great sandwich shop should be: fresh, thoughtful ingredients, generous portions, and flavors that actually surprise you in the best way.
I tried the roast beef—perfectly sliced, juicy, layered with this incredible horseradish cream and crisp veggies on a sturdy roll. It was so stacked I could barely close my mouth, but man, every bite was perfection. Paired it with one of their deli sides (the potato salad is creamy, tangy, and addictive). My partner went for the buffalo chicken and said it was the best version they’ve ever had—spicy but balanced, not just heat for heat’s sake.
The spot feels cozy and modern with that open kitchen vibe where you can watch Emily and Doug (the owners) craft each order with real care. Everything’s made fresh, local-inspired, and you can tell they change things up seasonally. Service was fast and friendly even during the lunch rush.
Harrisonburg needed this kind of elevated sandwich spot. If you’re in the area, skip the chains and head straight here. You’ll leave full, happy, and already plotting your return. 5 massive stars—go support this gem!
