1st time trying Dowds BBQ food truck at Sunrise park in Puyallup. I didn’t try the bbq today. I ordered the catfish and chips and side of mac n cheese, collard greens and potato salad. The price was pretty fair for the quantity which was good, lots of fries(chips). The catfish was delicious with good spice and breading not greasy. The mac n cheese and potato salad tasted like true southern yumminess. The collard greens were too spiced for me, worth the wait for made to order food! Will come again!

Not only was the fish fried to perfection BUT the service from start to finish was out of this world!!! Visited them at their location near t mobile park next to Efeste wine tasting room and LOVED their food. I got the Mac and cheese brisket and it was so delicious. Plus, they were super friendly. Highly recommend! Was such a yummy dish before the Ms game

No shortage of flavor or southern hospitality here. The Mac and cheese was very tangy and peppery. I’ve had southern Mac before and this was a similar style with a more tangy, peppery adult twist. The ribs were heavily sauced and strongly spiced. Full flavored food and good portions. The number system also got out of order but that was no problem. It wasn’t the best choice with my semi picky kids and at the ymca kid event today but I’m grateful for the opportunity to try it!

This place is great. Mac and cheese is a rival to your mom’s. The chicken is awesome. Ribs and brisket are full of flavor.
The strawberry icebox cake will take you back to childhood.
I would reserve this place for catering again.

So good! Delicious brisket over Mac’n cheese was tender, with perfect tangy sauce and creamy Mac ‘n cheese. Food truck: the chef had the perfect manner, huge smile, and booming voice to call out the orders. It was an experience worth the wait. (I was order 551.)

Just tried a BBq brisket sandwich. It was very dried out meat that was overly salty and buried in bbq sauce. Even my husband that will eat anything, only rook a few bites. When we took it back up to the window, the gentleman barely acknowledged our complaint, did not offer an apology or anything. He took the sandwich and we walked away. Do not waste your money on this terrible food and even worse service..

We hired Dowds to cater our wedding at the recommendation of our wedding planner. The trial food we picked up was amazing. The food on the day of was a let down. They showed up almost two hours late, causing panic and a total change of schedule. The food the day off was super average. One guest had to ask them to put the pulled pork away because it looked under done. It honestly seemed like they forgot they had a wedding and didn’t have time to make everything like they usually do. They never reached out to apologize or try to make things right with a refund. Just so disappointed. They also didn’t eat their own food, they are our late night hot dogs provided by another vendor.

Met them at Taste Washington in Seattle today. It’s the only food vendor I went back to for seconds. They constantly had a line. Food was delicious. I was excited to learn they were closer to me in Tacoma. I’ll go out of my way to visit them again. Good food. Great people.

1st time here was told my order was going to be 20 minutes it’s been 40 minutes strong and no food! I’m hungry will review food after I eat. This is only an initial review. After further review the ribs were good for the Seattle area. Although I recommend that the pitmaster. Pull the membrane from the backside of the ribs the sauce was nice and flavorful. I didn’t care for the sides too much greens were way too tough and mac n cheese wasn’t cheesy enough. If Dowd reworks his greens he’d have maybe 5 stars. ( the next time I’ll make sure I call ahead to order )
