The best sushi in the area. Tasty and fresh. Nice atmosphere and lots of parking. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Have tried a few other spots and this one is our fav, came again tonight and decided it deserves a review

Tried out Won Japanese Restaurant on a busy Sunday evening. Service was spotty; had to ask for tea, serving plates, etc. Stingy with ginger.
– Tamago roll ($4.25) – standard
– Negitoro roll ($6.25) – solid
– Chopped scallop & tobiko roll ($6.75) – good sized scallops. One piece was 95% rice filled
– Unagi roll ($10.25) – decent
– Oshizushi sushi ($15.99 for 6) – could have used jalapeño slices to add some punch
Decent maki rolls at WJR. 3.5 stars.

Seemed like Japanese-Chinese fusion. The food i had was yummy and there were some veggie delights I have never seen on a menu. I had a roll with agadashi tofu on top. Gomae sauce was good but not the authentic Japanese sauce I was hoping for but was stoked to have gomae in the actual roll. Seafood gyoza’s were more like deep fried wontons but still good. If you want Authentic Japanese Nagomi in Gibsons is the best but I enjoyed the staff and patrons and was super happy to get to have agadashi tofu and gomae in one roll! There were some timing issues with our food. Our appetizer we ordered first, came last and the main meals were served at different times. My friends was nice and hot, mine not as much. I would go again to try some other menu items I have not seen on other Japaness food menus but Nagomi for Authentic Japapnese food. Overall, a good experience.

Food was good but service was terrible. Will definitely be eating at sima from now on. Definitely dont want to pay top dollar to be served half as from a bearded dude in a ball cap at a nice restaurant.

This place blows the pants off of Sima across the street. The prices are actually quite similar, but the difference in quality is night and day. California roll was generously filled, the charashi don featured a very good quantity and variety of sashimi, and they even brought us complimentary salmon tempura skewers to start. This is our new go-to for sushi on the coast.
