Tortilla Flats in Santa Fe has the best pancakes I’ve had in New Mexico. The blue corn piñon pancakes are absolutely incredible — fluffy, slightly nutty, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. Also, my friend enjoyed the regular pancakes. If you’re looking for breakfast in Santa Fe that feels authentic and memorable, this is the place. The red chile on the side made the whole plate uniquely New Mexican. We’ll definitely be back for pancakes again!

We stopped in for a late lunch mid-afternoon. The restaurant was not very busy and so it was quiet and the service was prompt. I particularly enjoyed the green chili, which was a medium spiciness (about the maximum for my tastes). I had the green chili chop and my wife a black bean burrito.

Went early for after work celebration and was seated right away. It wasn’t too busy and service was prompt and efficient. Quiet enough to hold a conversation with everyone in my party. Nice atmosphere.

We recently visited here and ordered enchiladas, chicken soup, and a sopapilla at this restaurant. While the food was decent, it didn’t quite meet expectations—it was just “okay.” The flavors were good but not extraordinary. Unfortunately, the prices were on the higher side for what we received. While it wasn’t a terrible experience, it felt a bit overpriced for the quality of the meal. I might consider other options in the area next time.

Lunch was great! I had the combination plate with green chile. I had eaten here years ago…it’s still an excellent lunch stop in Santa Fe. Friendly service, no waiting. Plate was a full serving of food with 2 sopapilla’s.

What has really happened to the happy smiling people who need to remember the profession they chose and choose to be horrible at their jobs from picking up and order to simply ordering over the phone is the most frustrating and saddening experience I have had ever. In hopes it would have changed from person to person it hasn’t and not that I don’t live to cook for my family or that I can’t but every now and again I like to treat those I love to a meal if their choosing and I have to deal with people who do not know what they themselves offer, what is in their own menu but are rude to boot. Also, fyi to let u know this n 50% off deal they supposedly offer but k ow nothing about… apparently they add their own rules when you try to get the special they are offering like it hurts them to follow through with what they advertise. How shameful you all should feel, and btw next time you want to complain about having to give the offer make sure the people on the other end of the telephone can not hear you. For those who do not know what I am saying they have a special from 8-11 am for 50% off on huevos rancheros but refused to follow through after 10 minutes of trying to figure out what I was talking about coming outside to look at their own offer then to top it off made their own rules that you can only use this for fining i not ordering over the phone like somehow the payment would not be the same! Absolutely ridiculous and no where is this stated. Anyhow, maybe if they were kinder in their whole process we had to go through I would have ordered anyways but these people are ignorantly stepping off the bus that teaches people how to be just plain awful!!!

I’m a native New Mexican, born in Santa Fe and have been eating carne adovada all my life and love it. Can’t say I loved it here, . . There were so many red chile seeds in it, which I’ve never seen before, made it hard to eat.

Red chili enchiladas were awesome (as usually). Sopapillas are fantastic too. Give them a try if you are in the Santa Fe NM area.

If you’re looking for the best tortilla soup in New Mexico, Tortilla Flats is a must-stop.
My husband and I make it a point to stop at Tortilla Flats every time we’re road traveling through New Mexico. It’s become one of our go-to meals, and we consistently order their Tortilla Soup — it never disappoints.
The soup is seasoned with chicken stock that is flavorful without being too heavy. It’s made with fresh zucchini, yellow squash, sweet corn, green onion, and authentic New Mexico green chile.
It’s topped with crispy corn tortilla strips, fresh cilantro, and melted cheese that makes it savory and delicious.
It’s hearty, comforting, and full of authentic Southwestern flavor. You can taste the quality and freshness in every bite.
Whether you’re traveling through Santa Fe or live locally, I highly recommend Tortilla Flats for their tortilla soup, green chile flavor, and consistently excellent food. It’s become a tradition for us — and one we look forward to every trip.
Highly recommend!
