I just moved to the area and have been looking for authentic African cuisine. This is my second week in a row I have went here. The cashier(Woman) was very welcoming and professional. The music in the restaurant was nice. The location is very clean. Lots of parking thank god that was not an issue. I ordered the “Asun” and my GOD it’s hot but so good. My meal was Cassava/beef with white rice. Everything was perfect. Comfort food is what I call it. I give this place 5 stars. I can’t wait to order the snails. They do make though you don’t see it on the menu. You have to call a week in advance if you want some. I will be placing my order next week.

Not good at all…the egusi was wirh frozen spinach not much green, too much palm oil. I know good egusi and this is not it…will not be back and service is very slow. They told us they were out of jollof but then gave us a small order but it was old like it had been sitting out

Absolutely the best West Africa Nigerian food in Southern Prince George’s County!!!! Portion sizes could be larger, but the taste you can’t resist.

Pretty good overall; was expecting a bit more flavor based on other reviewers. the restaurant itself looks kind of like a dive, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as some of the best kept food spots are considered dives. I got the combination platter which was one entree with two sides. For the main I got fish, tilapia, and for the sides I got the rice and the moin-moin, which was described to me as a “bean cake” of sorts. The person that took my order was friendly and helpful. Prices seemed decent for the area. Menu is limited, which is totally fine. Food took about 10 to 15 minutes to come out, which is pretty on par. And my meal came out, it looked great and the portions were big. The rice was basically an entire bowl of rice put on the plate, the fish was a whole tilapia, and the moin-moin was shaped like a cup. The rice was fairly flavorful, but pretty spicy. It reminded me of Spanish rice of sorts. The moin-moin reminded me of refried beans, just packed tightly into a “cake”. To me, it was kind of bland though. A tilapia looks good with some sort of green chile sauce from what I can tell on it. I thought it would be fried but it was probably baked or sauteed. However, I thought the fish was sort of bland as well. It wasn’t bad per se, I guess I just was expecting a lot more flavor from it.

I’ve known about this restaurant since 2018. I’ve ordered several things from them and I’ve done puff puff catering with them. I stopped ordering from them in 2019 after I ordered grilled fish and I got sick…. Fast forward to 2023. Today, I decided to give them a try again and order Puffpuff, Asun, Egusi Soup and Okra soup with pounded yam… The puff puff and Asun was nice as always…

Egusi- Tasted like it was mixed with undone tomato sauce. I can literally taste the sour tomatoes. No true Nigerian person will eat this. The color of the egusi looks very inviting, but the taste is not.

Okra soup- I was skeptical to eat this at first because it wasn’t drawing like how okra soup should be. I decided to give it a try and my goodness I’m very disappointed. The soup has big portions of meat which is nice, but the taste is not up to par. Again, I don’t know any Nigerian or African at that, that will be okay with this.

I have to say, their jollof rice, puff puff, Asun and meatpie is a must try, but every other thing is not authentic at all.

I’ve also had an amazing customer service experience with them.

The lady was nice but…. Food was not good at all. The meat was old and tough. I could tell it was old because it was dry and smothered In cassava leaf stew. And it was hard! I had a hard time cutting it with a knife. Perhaps if the food was freshly made it would have been more tolerable. But to sell old food is just disgusting. I would not recommend.

As someone who does not typically visit nor eat African food ordering from this establishment was very challenging.
I went in wanting to try Eru after hearing so much about it. The first lady told me that they did not sell it, so I left.
After reading the reviews again I decided to go back & try something else. A different lady came to take my order when I went back & it was extremely difficult to order with her. I asked her for the closest thing to Eru & she told me that it was pretty much a seasoning… So now I’m confused.
After 10 minutes of us BOTH asking questions I decided to just get the Okra soup. Even after that she confused me again asking if I wanted the yam with it. After she had already told me that it did…
Anyway after I finally get my food. It didnt really look like soup but it did look good.
I enjoyed the Okra “soup” I just wish that I did not have such a hard time ordering. Maybe next time I’ll give 4 ‍♀️

African restaurant with mainly West African/ Nigerian dishes. Food is delicious, portion size and price are okay. No in house dining due to the pandemic. Order ahead and pick up or prepare to wait if walking in.

I especially love the cleanliness of this restaurant. The food is also amazing and I enjoyed the yam porridge greatly. I was in Maryland for Thanksgiving to visit my cousins and they brought me to this restaurant to have a feel of Naija delicacy. The guy that attended to us was very professional and polite. This restaurant is also close to the road and can be easily noticed from a vehicle in normal traffic.

When visiting west African restaurants in the area you can expect the food to not be cheap, yet you should also expect to be charged the correct amount and extras to not be added. When I placed my order the total I should have been charged was $60, yet I luckily check my bank account to see that an extra $10 was added out of no where. I reported this fraudulent claim and was reimbursed by my bank. This type of scamming behavior is unacceptable, and I advise anyone else who uses this establishment to check your account after you go to ensure you aren’t being ripped off and report this location for deceitful activity. Hope this is not happening to more people, but what I do know is that not only will I not be returning but will advise others not to as well due to shady practices.
