It’s been probably 15 years since I’ve been to Red Lobster. Reason is that after quite a few good years of going to this chain, there was a noticeable decline in the food and condition of the restaurants. Fast forward to present day, I was given a gift card for Red Lobster recently. So we figured, “it’s been a long time” plus also by now the chain probably had tried to re-establish itself. Nope. It honestly felt like I went through a Time Machine and was right back in the old establishment. The place was extremely dated, carpet had that old restaurant odor, wooden surfaces sticky, not from food, but from worn aged surfaces.
Now, I’m not a snobby, picky person when it comes to restaurants, but you can’t help but notice that Red Lobster really should have changed or called it quits. Unfortunately, this chain has succumbed to the industry trend of buying foods from the likes of Sysco, PFG or US Foods, plus the usual corporate mess that destroys once favored restaurants.
The food:
Way overpriced to begin with. $45 for the admirals feast which looks more like the admirals snack. Lobster tails that are slightly larger than a crawfish tail, tiny hush puppies etc. The signature cheddar bay biscuits are nothing like the old days though, dense, doughy flavorless and obviously made in the microwave. I wound up choosing the daily special fish and chips. I figured if they screw that up, then I would be glad I didn’t buy the more expensive meal. Well, the best part of the meal was the French fries, which are obviously food service grade. Tiny hush puppies which were tepid in the middle and doughy. The fish portions were shaped food service fare and not very tasty. Cole slaw…inedible.
The drinks:
Another trend of being way overpriced for mediocre fare at best. I had the bourbon blackberry smash. Tasted ok despite the frozen blackberries sitting in the bottom of the glass.
Needless to say, I won’t be going back. I think it’s time to let Red Lobster know that although the body may be living, its spirit has left this planet.
For the money, there are far better places to eat. Just ask some younger folks, you know, the ones that are decidedly absent from Red Lobster?

I ordered carryout this evening and was very disappointed with the experience. I ordered the clam chowder for $7.49 and received a small side cup that was only half full, completely cold, and without any clams—just the base. When I brought it back to ask why it wasn’t full, the employee told me, “That’s all you get.” When I mentioned the price, he replied, “Yeah, this place is expensive.” I asked if they offered hot soup, and he laughed before taking it to the back and microwaving it—which I easily could have done myself.

To add to the frustration, my cheesesticks didn’t include marinara sauce, and no napkins or utensils were provided.

I can see why Red Lobster is struggling and closing locations. It feels like the quality and customer service have really declined. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

The food was great, no complaints. The wait took a bit but considering how packed the place was I think it was decent. Our waitress ally was amazing and funny. She made sure everything was taken care of. Pricing was good as well:) 4 stars instead of 5 simply because of how packed it was.

Jamie was our server tonight and she really made our night special. We had a birthday to celebrate and 5 people in our party. We all ordered full meals and drinks. The drinks and food were delivered on time and were delicious. Jamie was a great conversationalist and super professional, not being too intrusive. To our surprise at the end of the of the dinner she shared she had only worked as a server and Red Lobster for ONE WEEK. Hats off to Red Lobsters training program and Jaime, she was fantastic!

If there were a zero-star option, that’s what this Red Lobster location would deserve.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived around 5:00 p.m. on a Monday night. Although the restaurant was not busy, we were told we couldn’t be seated until more of our party arrived. We were finally seated around 5:20.

We ordered drinks right away, but had to ask several times for our alcoholic beverages as happy hour was ending. One drink was made incorrectly — it was served without alcohol, and instead of remaking it properly, we were given the alcohol in a shot glass to pour in ourselves. Meanwhile, the bartender appeared more focused on socializing with other patrons than preparing drinks. We did not receive our drinks until 6:00 p.m.

At that point, we were able to order appetizers. We also had to ask for biscuits. We didn’t get to place our full dinner order until 6:30 — a full hour after being seated. Around 6:50, we realized we hadn’t received the salads that were supposed to come with our meals and had to ask for those as well.

At 7:20, we were told our food was “on its way out.” After waiting another 15 minutes with no food delivered, we decided to leave. We had been there for two and a half hours and never received our meals.

As we were walking out, we noticed guests who had arrived after us were already seated and eating. We asked one table how long they had waited, and they told us only 30 minutes.

Spending $20–$35 per meal does not come with an expectation of perfect service — but it certainly comes with an expectation of basic attentiveness and receiving your food. Waiting 2.5 hours without ever being served is completely unacceptable, especially on a slow Monday evening.

This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Food Was good. I had the Shrimp Alfredo. No issues. Our server was very active until our food was delivered. After we received our food we didn’t see our server at our table again until the check was ready. We tried to flag him down, but couldn’t get his attention. We were not offered any refills of bread after it was all eaten, and we did not receive 2 or our sides. We were running out of time, having less than an hour, so we just paid and left. The place was not busy, having only a few other families in the restaurant.

Food was good, initial service was good. $80 bill. Nice service when we had it.

Did a pick up order of the Southwest Shrimp Bowl and crabby stuffed mushrooms. The bowl was missing the greens and the presentation in the huge container was not appealing. The mushrooms are mushy and really over moist. I could only eat the shrimp and biscuits. I am really disappointed for $32. Maybe it’s better sitting down but my pick up order wasn’t worth the money.

Extremely long wait just to get drink order. It seemed as though the waitress’ and servers had no interest in trying to help us. They made several passes by our table not even looking to see if we had been waited on. When we finally had our order taken, it took 30-40 minutes to get our food. Our waitress forgot which table we were at, trying to serve my wife’s salad at the table beside us. Once we received our food, the order was wrong. After finishing our meal, we asked for the check, it took almost 30 minutes for the waitress to bring us our check. Needless to say no tip was given. To top it off, my wife and I both got sick over night. Safe to say I will never go back, and I will recommend anyone who ask me about going there, I will strongly advise them not to go

Very disorganized staff. We had reservations yet waited at hostess stand for 20 minutes because there wasn’t a host, only one person frantically trying to make sure there was room for the party of 11 he was expecting. We were seated on time, though.
The restaurant was out of so many items. We were told right away that there were no more piña coladas. We waited 30 minutes for cocktails. They ran out of bread. They ran out of clean glassware and served drinks in to-go cups. They ran out of crab crackers.
