Polished, upscale restaurant offering elevated American fare & river views through large windows.

We’ve had breakfast and brunch at Brim House while staying at the Renaissance Hotel. The food and service were fantastic. The hostess and all the servers were so friendly and inviting. I loved their eggs Benedict which is my usual go to at breakfast time.
During our stay this past weekend we had brunch. I opted to try their chicken and waffles. I’m glad I did, the apple butter was amazing and paired well with the chicken. It added some heat to the sweet maple syrup making it a perfect combo of delicious. My wife had the all American breakfast which she thought was hearty, and very filling. We will definitely be back, and hopefully will have time to try dinner service. I highly recommend the Brim house even if you aren’t staying at the hotel.

New Year’s Eve started with a bit of confusion regarding my reservation, but after speaking with David, the Food & Beverage Manager, everything was handled extremely well. He was very helpful, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed promptly. His team was excellent, the food was great, and the service was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful New Year’s Eve

Overall a solid place to get breakfast if staying at the Renaissance. I ordered the Poutine for breakfast which had a nice combo of tater tots, sausage, gravy, and eggs that came on top. My wife got an omelette with everything in it. She said it was good and the cheesy potatoes were good also. Some service issues with toast not coming out, some omelettes that weren’t prepared correctly for some people in our group. The physical aspect of this space is fine, easy to hear and carry on conversations.

The croissants were perfectly buttery and flaky, and the sausages and bacon were full of flavor. But what really made our visit special was the incredible service from Carrie and the entire team. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. When they found out it was our anniversary, they sent over mimosas on the house — such a thoughtful surprise!
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great views of the river and a peaceful park next door. It’s such a relaxing and enjoyable place to spend time. Everything — from the food to the atmosphere to the service — was just spot on. Highly recommended.

Great experience in downtown Toledo. Thea and Tim were excellent as hosts and David stepped in to help with a minor issue that was resolved rapidly and professionally. Excellent food and lively atmosphere with lounge music on a Thursday evening. Good way to end a business trip. Will stay here anytime I travel to Toledo. Top notch service.

Food was okay, but for the price not good enough. They didn’t have waffles for some reason so we got a pancake with our chicken. The atmosphere is odd and the windows are dirty. The table had a receipt tray under it but it was still wobbly. 2 chicken and “waffles” and 2 orange juices was 50 bucks. Probably won’t return.

We had a party of 13 attending Chef’s Table Series: A Celebration of Love. Menu posted below, along with a few dinner pics. Dinner reservations ran a little late, but that didn’t put a damper on the evening. Our wait staff were attentive, accommodating, pleasant & provided a great upscale dining experience. The ambiance was romantic & fun. The food was amazing! A 7 course dinner with a variety of foods to address anyone’s dining palate. What a wonderfully fun & delicious dining experience! Each course perfectly paired with an adult drink. Chef Mike came out to tell us about each course. He was polite, addressed questions, but he was definitely kept busy that evening. My only complaint for the evening was the walleye dish was not hot. Mine & a couple of other’s fish were more cold than warm. I was disappointed because it was tasty until I got to the cold part. To their defense they offered to remake each of ours. We declined because everyone else was already finishing up their course. Just didn’t want to be the cause of further delay. Otherwise I cannot wait to have dinner there again. Definitely worth a second visit.

We were staying at the hotel and came down for a few cocktails. The service was slow at the bar, even though they appeared to have enough staff, and the staff seemed uninterested in being there. It was very crowded due to number of holiday parties but no one had a sense of urgency except the bar backs. We left after one round of expensive cocktails. Do not order an Old Fashion here – the bartender that made ours had no idea what he was doing.
The atmosphere was excellent and we loved the outdoor area.
I am hopeful it was just an off night and maybe the staff was overwhelmed and tired from the holiday season. We will try again if we are back in the area.
