I’ve been hearing about Peychaud’s for the past month, so I finally found a moment to stop by before meeting up with my family. The decor is very French Quarterish, intimate, and exactly what you’d expect from a classic New Orleans cocktail bar.

I’m a big fan of sitting at the bar, so as soon as I walked in, it was time to camp out at my favorite spot. Food wasn’t on my mind today, so if you’re here for a food review, you might want to skip this one . This was strictly a drinks only mission.

At first, the bartender was a guy I recognized from Cure, which instantly set the tone. the bartenders there actually know their craft, so I already felt like I was in good hands.
Then Zari entered the scene.
I’m not sure if she was just getting on shift or wrapping it up, but she completely elevated the experience. I told her I’m a gin person (heavy on the gin), and instead of giving generic suggestions, she actually tailored recommendations to my taste.

I ended up ordering the Clover Club cocktail, and it did not disappoint. Balanced, refreshing, and beautifully crafted exactly what I want from a gin-based drink.

Then came my bonus round: a shot of Song Cai Dry Gin from Vietnam. Clean, botanical, and surprisingly smooth, definitely not your average gin. If you’re into spirits with gumption, this one is worth trying.

Peychaud’s delivers: the drinks.
The vibe is solid, the bartenders know their craft, and the gin selection is impressive.

I was at Peychaud’s Bar on Friday and it absolutely impressed me! I had the best Ramos Gin Fizz in all of New Orleans — perfectly creamy, light, and made just right. Huge shoutout to bartenders V and Chris — true professionals who know their craft and make you feel welcome. If you want an authentic NOLA cocktail experience, this is the place!

I was at Courtyard on Friday with my friends. The drinks were amazing. Our server was great and attentive. Their Hurricane is very good, and the shot glasses are so cute. Adrian let us try their strawberry-infused rum. We had a great time. Highly recommended!

What a gem of a place! We stopped by here after a day of sightseeing in New Orleans last week. The vibe was chill and the air conditioning was blasting! It was a slow Wednesday night so we sat at the bar to soak up the cool air and rest our bones and the bartenders couldn’t have been friendlier. Good, casual conversation, great local suggestions, appropriately moody decor, stellar drinks and no Malort, a 5 star establishment in my book!! I had a classic French 75 and it was the best one I had of the whole trip! My husband had the Milk Punch and we split the Ramos Gin Fizz. All were fantastic. Should we ever make our way down there from Chicago again, it’ll be the 1st stop on our list!

Peychaud’s is at the top of my list of best bars in New Orleans. The quality of the cocktails, the service and the cozy vibe are always top-notch. This is where I bring out-of-town guests when I want New Orleans to shine. I feel like I’m always treated like family, the folks here are welcoming and friendly. And they are professionals who are really, really good at their craft. Example: last night one of our party was struggling to decide on a cocktail, so we asked the bartender what he would make for himself. The result was astonishingly good and deliciously weird: yellow Chartreuse, Frenet Branca & an IPA chaser. Delightful!

Came here on a Friday night and hated it! The service was horrible and the bartenders were super rude and condescending. We ordered our $15 drinks and after we finished them, they asked if we wanted to order more. When we said no, they told us we had to leave if we weren’t going to be drinking. On top of that, they charge 20% gratuity on the check. Don’t come to this second-rate/overpriced place!

UPDATE: the owner replied to my review stating that our party was “quite large and occupied a significant portion of the limited seating.” For context, we were visiting from different states to attend a research conference and their so-called policies are nowhere to be found in this establishment. If their staff had acted professionally and let us know about them from the get-go, we would have kindly complied. Instead, they decided to kick us out even though there were plenty of seats available during the time of our visit.

The gin fizz was okay, wouldn’t recommend it in particular.

But the bartenders were properly a comic duo One is just shamelessly flirting with some girl and doing nothing. The other was literally drowning with all the tasks and throwing the nastiest side eyes at the other guy.

Service was incredibly slow but the tension between the bartenders was too entertaining

The drinks are amazing but the best part is the service. Zari made us feel at home here and her skills as a bartender are 11/10. Come here for quality drinks and conversation.

One of my favorite cocktail bars. All the classic cocktails are perfectly done. If you haven’t had a Ramos gin fizz, this is the place to try it.

Benjamin was incredible. Appreciate the hospitality.

Stumbled upon Peychauds on a week long trip to NOLA and ended up here almost every day for a cocktail. The ambiance was perfect as were all of the cocktails we had. The French 75 and Roffignac were our favorites. Each bartender we had was friendly and made amazing cocktails. It was a wonderful reprieve from Bourbon St.
