Came here to have some beers with my dad and friends. It’s a great dive bar and has been around for quite a while. Gave the food 3 stars because I didn’t eat at all. However, their burgers are supposed to be pretty good.

If you want a great burger run, don’t walk to Goldyburger. This place is conveniently located right off Circle Ave/ Franklin in Forest Park. It’s pretty walkable from downtown Oak Park and if you live in the area or just visiting this place can’t be missed. They only take cash, but have an ATM onsite.

The ambiance is classic vintage Irish pub. The classic metal pedestal bar stools are flanked around a wooden wrap around bar. The wooden booths and the checkered table cloths leave you to imagine the history and all the folks that have crossed its threshold in its 99th year. It’s the neighborhood bar you can come inside and stay a while. There is so much history on the walls with Irish blessings, cheesy sport memorabilia and vintage beer decor. It all starts when you walk in the door under the Old Style marquee.

There is an intimate enclosed outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and a flat screen TV. While we didn’t eat it outside, it would be the perfect gathering with friends or a small get-to-gether.

The menu is small and simple, food is served on plastic baskets and paper plates.
The burger was juicy, hot and full of flavor. Make sure you have a pile of napkins, because you’re gonna need it. The fries and onion rings which we had as an appetizer were perfectly crispy and hot. When you have a taste for onion rings look no further, because they hit the spot. My husband had the chicken sandwich which was equally juicy and grilled to perfection. The beer was ice cold and service was fast and efficient.

If fine china is important to you, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking for a vintage Irish pub off the beaten path with good burgers and cold beer look no further! The food is good, the service is better, minus the fine china. We will be back, but next time our spot will be flanked at the bar getting to know the locals!

This is a dive bar. It is “Cash only.” There is an ATM in the bar. They have a dining room with 6 booths and a few tables. The menu is basic burgers, sandwiches, and fried foods. They also have an iceberg lettuce salad. We got the traditional Buffalo wings. They were served in a paper-lined plastic basket, and our plates were paper plates. They are dipping in Buffalo sauce, so you are going to go through a lot of napkins. Our burgers came out on Styrofoam plates, so it’s a little more sturdy. I got the 1/2 lbs Royal Blue Burger (blue cheese and bacon). My friend got the Big Daddy a 3/4 lbs patty with mushrooms and bacon, and your choice of cheese. The burgers were substantial and cooked to order; mine was medium, and my friend’s was medium-rare, just like we ordered. The bacon was crispy and thick, not fast food bacon. It is served on a hamburger bun. The fries were thicker cut than McDonald’s. We were surprised the soda pop was $4.50 each; we felt that it was high. The burgers were $14 – $15. The decor was a dive bar OG. There was an antique tin ceiling (the Marque said “Goldyburger since 1926” the ceiling could be original. ) and various Retro Irish bar signs. One Miller sign read “Céad Míle Fáilte” (a hundred thousand welcomes). Our server was good but not attentive or friendly. While we were there, a patron returned from their car rather upset, they timed their meter incorrectly, and got a ticket. Two burgers, two Cokes, and a small order of wings were $54.

Tasty burgers, cold beers, good times. Almost a century old, Goldyburgers is a classic dive bar time capsule with layers of worn in charm. The food is good, very hot and fresh, always made to order. Royal burger was great, I’m already looking forward to the next one.

My niece has group functions here. The burger was fantastic! Real and not pre packaged! The waitress was alone and feared she took too long but she was great and made my Bloody Mary from scratch! Very, very reasonable in price!

DISCLAIMER: This place is a dive bar in the truest sense of the phrase. Like actually dank and sticky. If that isn’t your thing, move on. Also, it is a CASH ONLY business.

OK, this place is almost 100 years old. It is like walking into a time warp going back to 1982. If you think the exterior looks rough, just wait until you go inside.

The regulars all seem to know each other, because this place is a neighborhood bar. I’m also gonna guess that a lot of Irish and cops hang out here.

All of that said, it has a full bar with very reasonably priced drinks. And the menu has awesome bar food. The burgers are actually worth it. Legit good stuff.

If you’re up for a little adventure, this is a cool place. But don’t be surprised when you walk in and see it. I warned you.

Big, juicy hand-packed and delicious pub burgers! True old school dive bar. It’s probably good I don’t live closer because I’d be there once a week for sure. I’m not surprised it has been around 100 years!

It’s a dive bar. A little… Or a lot pricey. But it was really good. My burger was obviously not a frozen patty and tasted on par if not better than portillo’s. I do wish they had more kinds of cheese than just cheddar balls. Our waitress/bartender was awesome. I love the decoration they have there. It has a scent when you walk in. Not a bad odor, just a smell that comes from having a bar/restaurant that’s been open a really long time through maybe many societal shifts. That’s actually a reassuring smell to me. It means they’re honest and good enough to withstand time, COVID, politics, and tax changes.

More people should support this place by giving them their custom. We should all want places like this to prosper and stay in business. This is a flavor of Chicagoland I personally would hate to lose.

Got the big daddy burger and it was indeed a tasty burger. Bars aren’t really my place for dining but I feel like it was still a cozy and good location if you’re one who is into that type of setting. Outdoor seating was a plus as the weather was lovely. No complaints here
