After my experience I was trying to figure out how their ratings stay so high! One thought is that when I clicked on the link to leave a review from my receipt … it said I had already left a review? I suppose they knew a good review was not in their future but to block me from reviewing so their heads don’t know is alarming. So I’ll leave a review here. We walked in and sat outside at opening and quickly decided to go inside as it smelled like wet garbage that had been doused in bleach. But we were sure it had to be great. Once inside as they poured our water you could see large pieces of food on the obviously dirty glass. It was changed but then my lunch friend found salt on the brim of their glass. They also quickly apologized and changed it out. We still held out hope. The food came and it was nothing to write home about. My dish was composed of 3 meat dishes to sample each. The chicken was overcooked and bland tasting. The ropa vieja had more flavor than the chicken and the consistency was good but again not the flavor punch I’ve come to expect from the dish in other places. Finally the roast pork… It was enjoyable until I found what appeared to be a sizable rock. The waitress explained it was probably bone and then the manager came over and stated it was a rock from the plant next to me??? And then after further inspection also thought it was a bone. I did not appreciate the accusation so I asked for the bill. He came and said he gave a 20% discount and I refused it and asked to pay the full amount as I was not looking for a discount merely food safety. He then had the waitress return and had completely removed my dish so he took even more off. I expressed I wanted to pay the full amount to the waitress and she stated that there was nothing she could do. So she received it all as a tip. Also he quickly walked off with the “bone” but I took a pic for proof. And those rocks in the plant? They were in epoxy and not loose. Bone… rock… don’t eat here you don’t want either in your food

Came here for a girl’s night out for the first time and we had such a great time! Our waitress Laura was nothing short of amazing and really made our night. The service was exceptional and the food was so good! (Coming from a Cuban this is high praise!)

Located at one end of Pembroke Gardens, this Cuban restaurant has good vibes, good happy hour, and helpful staff. Came with my girl Terri E and about 15 other lovely ladies and the bar was more than capable to handle all of us. They have a good happy hour but food and drinks are only at the bar while drinks are available at tables as well.
I got the coconut mojito and it was tasty, not too sweet, but also not really strong. Terri and I shared the tostones rellenos and they were piled high with ropa vieja. Probably would be the most filling off the happy hour menu. I also tried the croquetas (which apparently you can order 3 different flavors in 1 order) and they were fried nicely. The truffle yuca fries were delish as most truffle fried items go. The fried pork was good and served with a small basket of yuca chips. Our server at the bar (Alex I think) was a pro handling all the orders and checks and chaos that ensures with large parties. Would definitely come back to try more of their menu.

Visited this restaurant based on reviews.
The service was attentive and friendly. I had the fish with brown rice and salad. Hubby had the shrimp with brown rice and plantains. Both were very good, fresh ingredients and plated nicely.
There was outdoor seating and live entertainment on Friday night.
It was a pleasant experience and recommend this restaurant.

Pablo is definitely hands down the #1 waiter of this amazing place and the one that every other restaurant should have. He came to the rescue after noticing that we were waiting very long for no reason, he took over and ensure we had the best experience. I cannot stress enough how great his service was, on time and also how unique the food was.
I definitely recommend anyone to come here, enjoy the Cuban roots and food, and ask for Pablo, he will make you will like home.
