When I tell you RUN don’t walk!!! The food is Amazing! This was my first time going in and i already knew the food was going to be amazing. Everything is so well seasoned and made with love. It felt like I was eating at a family member house. The yams are perfect and the mac and cheese cooked just the way i like it and don’t get me started on the chicken. 10/10 they have a customer for life.

The owner at Pepe’s is very nice, friendly, and welcoming, with a great attitude, and you can tell he cares. He’s been in business for over 11 years, and I can see why the community supports him.
The plate I tried (fried chicken, mac & cheese, and candied yams) was okay overall. The chicken had a nice crunch, though it wasn’t as juicy as I expected and could use a little more seasoning. The mac & cheese was creamy but needed a bit more flavor to really shine. The candied yams were the highlight, sweet and well-balanced.

Customer service is beyond amazing. Came with my mom and my husband and we were greeted with warm smiles. The owner even came out to say hello. We were asked if it was our first time here (it was) and we were given samples. Food was delicious! And fresh! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you again for amazing service and food!!!

The person behind the counter was so friendly and was very communicative about how much time the food was going to take! I ordered the chicken, which was going to take a while, and when I picked up the rest of the order, it was still hot and fresh! They made sure to prepare the other foods close to the pickup time and I appreciate that. The food itself was good and my favorite was the Thai Chili Shrimp! It was so crispy and big. I appreciate the amount of fries given as well. The person behind the counter ran after me outside the restaurant when he realized he forgot to give me ketchup! Overall a 10/10 experience. I would travel all the way down here from Boston to have this experience again.

Pepe is very warm and friendly. Very unique flavors, unexpected for soul food. My kids loved the gyros. Delicious shrimp, especially the teriyaki. It’s a hole in the wall line of atmosphere, but the best kind where the food is great!

First of all, superb food overall. I was traveling through New Rochelle and saw this Halal place on google maps. I stepped and was greeted by the dude at the counter, very pleasant man and very cool soul music. My from Brooklyn, like an hour to 1 1/2 away from home, so I ordered more food so that I could really taste and rate this place. I ordered the Moroccan Style Lamb Gyro (5/5), the NY Style Buffalo Shrimp (3/5) with fries (4/5) along with Tarter Sauce and Coleslaw. I finished this with their famous Mac n Cheese (3/5) and their signature Fruit Punch (5/5). Overall, the Lamb Gyro and fruit punch were amazing. The Mac n cheese and the Shrimp seemed like they were from a high end restaurant, but personally I like my Mac and cheese more cheesy and the shrimp sauce was too sweet. This place still gets a 4/5, very nice. No bathroom though 🙂

Today is September 5, 2025 first time I went to this restaurant I ordered mac & cheese fried chicken and yams. The mac & cheese was disgusting. It was bland and it was white mushy bullshit. The fried chicken was disgusting. The yams I’ll give it from one to 10 I’ll give it a three I would never go back to this restaurant. If these people cannot cook why open up a restaurant let’s not forget my meal was $25 for little three pieces of chicken, a small portion of mac & cheese and a small portion of yams that are three year-old wouldn’t even get full off of this is horrible

I ordered from this place because it had good ratings and serves halal food (which the person working there assured me of as well). Pretty much all of the food was delicious, especially the NY Buffalo Shrimp. I’ve never had shrimp like that before and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The Mac and cheese as well as the yams were also great, but the platters were just alright. The person working behind the counter was really friendly and I enjoyed interacting with him. I’d definitely like to come back for more.
