My sister because of tiktok, said we should try it out.
The pupusas had great flavor, but whoever made them obviously doesn’t know how.
They were small and very masudas, in other words the edgings were pure masa (corn flour) the filling wasn’t spread as it should be. The curtido was spicy (salvador doesn’t really do spicy, so what was that? La salsa, well just didn’t hit as it should’ve)
The tamel de elote was sweet. Me/my family is from San Miguel. And not just that but every tamale de elote is savory not sweet. There’s was sweet, automatic turn off and they didn’t even give us salvadorean cream, I asked for it and still never got it.
Drove about 50 minutes out for disappointment. I could have gone to Dinora’s on 1960 instead and left happy.
It was my first and last time going. I bought a soda, which by the way the price wasn’t listed and found out at checkout that the price was $4.99!!!! I ordered 14 pupusas and expected to wait roughly 30 minutes which is understandable, not an hour! I didn’t think to ask how long the wait would be but would expect that they would let me know if the wait would be that long. I started getting a migraine while waiting, when I approached the counter around 12:55 to ask how much longer on my order, they said another 15 minutes. You could tell they hadn’t even started. So I decided to request a refund. The lady at the register claimed she would give me a refund and then said there was a process. She then came back and said no refunds. I was told the food was already being made. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no one was available. I had no choice but to keep waiting until the food was ready.
