La Fountain Mexican Restaurant was established in Utah in 2009 by the Ramos Brothers, who migrated from San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Utah. The hard-working and dedicated brothers worked for more than 15 years and decided to unite efforts and savings to open their first restaurant in West Valley City, initiating the achievement of their American Dream.

There are quite a few Mexican restaurants around the valley that offer very similar menus, but this location really stands out for its convenience and quality. One of the biggest reasons we come here is the pickup window for to-go orders, which makes the whole experience quick and easy.
My husband is not usually a fan of eating out, so we tend to rely on takeout unless my daughter and I can convince him otherwise. Being able to place an order ahead of time and simply pick it up at the window is a huge plus for us. You can order online or call the restaurant directly. From what I can tell, calling in your order may actually be a little cheaper than using the online ordering platform they partner with, which is good to know.
When I arrived to pick up our food, there was no one else waiting at the pickup window and our order was already ready to go. The process was quick, smooth, and super convenient.
The food itself is delicious. One thing I’ve noticed is that the salsa you receive with takeout orders is a bit spicier than the salsa they serve with chips when dining in. My husband doesn’t think it’s spicy at all, but I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to heat, so your mileage may vary there!
My personal favorite are the cheese enchiladas. I usually order the ones made with flour tortillas, and they are huge. If you order the three-enchilada option, it honestly feels like it could stretch into three separate meals depending on your appetite. Their kids combo was not the greatest. We got the cheese quesadilla with fries. Their fries were undercooked and not very good.
Overall, we’ve had a great experience here and will definitely be coming back again in the future.

Carlos and all the employees are awesome! The food is good, chips and salsa is perfect, and they have clean restrooms which means they care. We come here several times a month, and we would considered ourselves regulars.

This is your basic American-style Mexican joint. Everything is good and fresh, and we had no complaints. Our server was young and took time to eat his lunch while we were there, so we had to ask another server for hot sauce, but other than that things were good. We’ll go back when we’re craving the standard fare!

My wife gets the chicken fajitas, I get the enchiladas. Awesome every time. This is the kind of place where you try to save half for leftovers the next day but you end up finishing the plate because you can’t stop. Rice and beans are solid. Chips and salsa are great. The Diet Coke is spicy. What more can you ask for?

We had the fajitas and my meal. The fajitas were amazing but my meal did not go so well.
The manager, Carlos heard about this and made it his business to help on any way he could.
He offered to replace the meal, but I couldn’t eat anything, so he removed my meal from the receipt and provided an opportunity to return in the future.
I have not been so impressed with restaurant customer service in at least 10+ years!!

Sad to see what’s happening to one of my favorite restaurants. Not only are the prices going up but the flavor is going down. Chile verde has little to no flavor compared to what it used to and the “hot sauce” has no spice anymore. Everything tastes so watered down. Sadly, it’s not just this location, but I think the competitors that have basically the same menu and recipes are doing it better right now.

My Hispanic friend George said it’s real Mexican food, and when George says something, you don’t argue, you just nod and order extra salsa!
The burrito was so big it filed a restraining order against my plate. I asked George what made it authentic, and he just stared at me until I apologized in Spanish.
I don’t know if George is in the cartel, but the waiter called him “Señor” and handed him a briefcase, I didn’t ask questions, I just tipped 40% and left as quickly as possible.
I’m rating this 10/10 jalapeño peppers on the Mexican rating scale, muy caliente!!

My wife and I decided to try this place because they claim to offer vegetarian options. What they don’t disclose is that their “smothered” sauce is made with meat. My wife is allergic to it, and when we brought it to the server’s attention, she acted like it was our fault. To make matters worse, the manager never even came over to address the situation or check if my wife was okay.
Their lack of transparency and complete disregard for my wife’s safety was unacceptable. I absolutely do NOT recommend this place to anyone!
