This is like a mall food court. Upstairs you got food and seating and downstairs you got food and seating and then a bar. The food is amazing here at Sizzling Jamaican. The goat was so tender at disintegrates in your mouth The oxtail is just as tender. The plate is bountiful and the rice and peas are on point.

$16 got us a lunch special with jerk chicken, coconut rice & beans, and cabbage. Delicious, with a mild kick that’s not quite spicy. We also tried plantains which were well seasoned but just the tiniest bit dry (probably healthier this way). This is part of a little upscale food hall that had a delicious cocktail bar, free wi-fi, and a few other places (poke, grain bowls, pizza) that we might come back to try.

I was excited to order bone in fried chicken and have had wonderful Jamaican food in the past. The fried chicken was not cooked to order. I have had better from the day old deli in Walmart. I added the scotch bonnet sauce, which is one of my favorites. It is usually yellow and the green sauce tasted like green Tabasco. The person that took my order and “prepared” our meals was very pleasant and the fries were good. Those are the only positive comments I can share.

I’ve never had Jamaican food before, but this was my favorite meal I had in steamboat. The restaurant is located in the commons food court . Neither my husband nor I really knew what to order but the lady running the shop was really helpful and made great recommendations. My husband had the oxtail and I had the goat curry and we also got a beef patty to share. The portions were generous for the price and everything was delicious. The curries were spicy and flavorful and the meat just fell off the bone. I highly recommend stopping here on your trip.

Seriously the best restaurant in the Steamboat area. Going into it, I didn’t necessarily have high expectations because the last place you’d expect authentic Jamaican food is in the middle of the mountains, but it was quite possibly the best example of the cuisine I’ve ever had. The curry goat was incredibly tender, and had an incredibly flavorful sauce. I also had a beef patty which was very crispy and the best of any that I’ve had. It’s certainly worth a visit!

Do yourself a favor and stop by if you can!! We had the BBQ Jerk Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, Oxtail & Curry Goat – all DELICIOUS. Even the side dishes taste like home
