Asked for LG shrimp fried rice with extra vegetables. It was loaded with shrimp and veggies, rice. The biggest container I’ve ever seen!! The crab Ragu was fresh and crispy. The General Tso’s Chicken was tender and spicy.

Yesterday I ordered on Uber eats the total with tip was $52.41. My Uber eats driver Kyra ended the Uber eats stating delivered with a picture of the food at the resturaunt. With the help of the employee they charged my card the $52.41 refunded the amount and recharged my card $69.14 the transaction shows 19.09 in adjustments. Then they also charged a separate $4 tip.

I was looking forward to this place since it seems to be the best reviewed Chinese restaurant in Mobile. I guess it might be the best in Mobile but, that isn’t saying much, it is not good at all. I’ve tried about 4 others in town and they are all bad.
Here, the Chicken and snow peas was completely drenched in some unidentifiable slime and the chicken was raw. Chow mein is just some sauce covered muck and doesn’t have noodles. Google: “chow mein” China Chef, noodles are the first ingredient, I would suggest adding them in the future. Now I have to figure out what to do for dinner because this is garbage. Not even my dog will eat it.

Health Alert! I received my food and open my sweet and sour sauce only to find a roach floating in it. I rushed back to complain and get a refund but they were closed. They are always closed and you can’t get inside to check the health rating.

I read mixed reviews on this place. But since I like to support small, local business, I went for it with my group of three others. Seeing that it had reviews from more than seven years ago, and it is still operating, it must be doing better than the initial unconducive reviews accorded to the local restaurant.
It is take out only, and you will miss it if you blink while driving along Government Street towards down town /gulf.
I ordered the Singapore Fried Rice Noodles. It came with chicken, beef and shrimp as the trio cooked in a special, spicy sauce. It was superb.
The portion was large enough for me to make two meals out of it.
I also had wonton soup, and the wonton was self made and delicious. The soup came in a large container, roughly 28-32 ounces (an estimate).
Very nice portions at a low price. Since I am from out of town, this will be my go to place when I return next year to Mobile. I will order the same, plus Cabbage and Shrimp.
I cannot wait.

Always delicious authentic Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. This is the only place I know of (as far as Chinese takeout) that serves a WHOLE chicken wing when you order their fried chicken wing…. and they are on the larger side of a wing. I only say this because I’ve had teeny tiny chicken wings from places like Popeyes that were laughable in comparison!
I would for sure recommend this place to other foodies even though I know it might make my next takeout order take a little longer because of their delicious food that
I’m turning everyone on to.
Bottom line….China Chef II is THE place for great food at a great place in midtown Mobile!
