Wow, what a delightful experience! This was my first time trying their breakfast (I usually do takeout in the evenings), and it definitely won’t be my last. The restaurant itself is super clean, open, and airy – perfect for enjoying that lovely Caribbean breeze.
We had the teriyaki chicken and the egg sandwiches, along with an unsweetened brew tea and a refreshing cucumber mint lime water. Everything came out in good time, the portion sizes were just right, and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. More importantly, the food tasted incredible!
The staff were also exceptionally friendly and attentive, coming to our table right away. I was so impressed that I’m already planning my next visit – the drinks at the next table looked amazing, and those eggs have my name on them! Highly recommend checking this place out.

Update: We had contact with the owner Hector, he was very accommodating and rectified the issue. We all returned for another meal and everything was excellent, we highly recommend this restaurant.
We have enjoyed YUM Yum wok many times over the years. Maybe this was just a bad day for them. 6 people, we all ordered our drinks to find out they only had 1 bottle of beer available, they were out of all beer. Then we ordered our food, two people received their food in a timely manner, we thought ours would be coming out right away. The restaurant was only a quarter full so they weren’t busy. Then we noticed people that had sat down after us received their food, when we asked where our other four meals were they said there was a mistake and they gave our food to someone else. Instead of trying to get it done quickly for us they seem to put it at the back of the line for new orders as other people started receiving theirs ahead of us also. Then finally two more of our meals showed up, but the others didn’t. We finally told them to cancel the final meals as the other people at our table had already finished eating. We asked to talk to the manager and the waitress said there was no manager on duty, maybe that was the issue. I hope they straighten out their issue, as it is a wonderful restaurant.

After eating there, I now regret walking past this place so many times without giving it a try…so many wasted opportunities for deliciousness! Their dishes are amazing, and when you ask for spicy, they don’t mess around! I had the “Hulk” dish and it was incredible! I can’t wait to return to Puerto Morelos and having another bowl of their wonderful noodles, but I might give some of their other options a try. I guess I’ll just have to go often! Their seats are not the greatest, but that has zero impact on the food. Highly recommended if you want something casual and different from usual fare.

each and a main was very much an eyes bigger than belly situation; we appreciated the offer of a box to take away what we couldn’t manage. We are vegetarian and chose the spring rolls and onion rings to start, the former were ok but the latter were so good, the best I’ve ever eaten; the dipping sauce was sublime. The depth of flavour of the build your own dishes was so good and the sauces perfectly complemented them. Honestly, the tofu/ peanut curry sauce is incredibly good. Service was attentive, professional and friendly and the white wine chilled and very palatable.

Fresh noodles and ingredients made the meal amazing.
Definitely recommend the spring rolls and onion rings!
Only thing I can suggest is maybe using some citronella candles in the eating area or have some repellent available as the mosquitoes were enjoying us as a meal, so had to give atmosphere a 4.

Starting with what I didn’t like about this restaurant: The waiting time from when I took my order was way too long, about 45+ minutes, but I will cut the chef some slack as it was quite busy that night.
Next, it was very noisy, to the point where we had to raise our voices to speak to the person on the opposite side of the table. The music was very loud and there was an occasional loud humming sound that came from the container kitchen which didn’t help either.
Now what I liked: The food was excellent, I really enjoyed the black noodle dish ‘Mar Muerto’ and it made up for the long wait. They also allow you to make your own dish by picking the ingredients from their menu if you wish. The spring rolls were nice and crispy.
If they fix my 2 main gripes then this would be an easy 5 star from me. Overall recommended.

Yum Yum is the right words for this amazing place. We go for the soup! The waitstaff is always attentive and easy going. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.
