I recently visited Flatschers on Kaiserstraße in Vienna’s trendy Neubau area, and it was a very satisfying experience for anyone craving high-quality steak in the city. This American-inspired steakhouse and burger joint focuses heavily on premium meat, and it shows.
The highlight was undoubtedly the steak sampler (or tasting selection), which let us try three different cuts side by side. Each one was cooked beautifully, perfectly seared on the outside with that signature crust from the lava stone grill, while staying juicy and tender inside. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the variety allowed us to compare textures and marbling without committing to just one large portion. It was a great way to explore their offerings, and all three steaks were clearly prepared with care and expertise. Accompanied by classic sides like crispy fries or a fresh salad, the meal felt indulgent yet not overwhelming.
The service was decent but nothing exceptional, the staff were friendly enough when they interacted with us, but they weren’t as attentive or proactive as you might expect in some higher-end places. Refills were slow, and it took a while to get attention for additional requests. That said, the quality of the food more than made up for it, and the lively, casual atmosphere kept things enjoyable.
Overall, if you’re in Vienna and want a reliable, flavorful steak experience with a New York twist, Flatschers is worth a visit. The meat is the star here, and it delivers. I’d definitely go back for another round of those steaks!

Very nice restaurant and bar. Chill atmosphere, very friendly and professional service, great food. Had a wonderful sharing steak dish for 2, with three kinds of cuts. Asked for rare and it was perfectly cooked. Add some nice fries and tasty homemade coleslaw to the mix and all in all we had a nice dinner. Good selection of beverages. Will definitely visit again when in Wien.

During my visit to Vienna, I had the pleasure of dining at an exceptional steakhouse, and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I’ve had in months!
We ordered the Rib Eye for Two, which was cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, flavorful, and tender. As a starter, we had the Caprese Burrata, requesting it without arugula, and it was fresh and creamy, just as it should be. We also tried the cheeseburger, which was incredibly juicy and packed with rich flavors. As a side for the ribeye, we chose the truffle mashed potatoes, which were simply divine—smooth, aromatic, and the perfect complement to the steak.
The service was outstanding! Our waitress was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. The total cost for all of this was €108, which we found quite reasonable for the quality.
If I had to mention one minor drawback, it would be that both the ribeye and the burger could have been served a bit hotter. However, this didn’t take away from the overall excellence of the meal.
If you’re in Vienna and looking for an unforgettable steakhouse experience, I highly recommend this place without hesitation!

I had a lady’s cut and beer of the house. I’m not a steak connoisseur but I found both meat and fries really tasty and well prepared. Although medium was a lil too bloody for me, but that’s a matter of preference. The beer tasted great and was fresh. I made a reservation but there was no need as the place was practically empty at 6pm, Wednesday. The waitress was kind, attentive and recommended a sauce to go with the steak. All in all, a nice experience.

Went there several times over the last year and I yet have to find anything bad – the place is in a quiet relaxed area, the staff is reserved but always friendly and helpful and the food is delicious – it might be a bit expensive yes but given the quality it’s a fair bargain. Would certainly recommend!

The burgers were generous and tasty but the tartar was a bit lifeless and looked more like filet americain. The service wasn’t particularly friendly and we were squeezed into a small table even though a couple who came in after us were sat at a table for six. We had a reservation but as we were 5 instead of 4 we were made to wait 30 minutes and given a table for 4 with an extra chair. We won’t come back running.

A great neighborhood restaurant and bar. In had the BEST Steak n Fries with Salad small plate. Perfect cook on the steak! My sister had the Cesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp. Everything was perfect. The wait staff friendly. We did not have a reservation and they managed to squeeze us in. Yay! If you go, I suggest you call ahead for a reservation.
