The food was so good! Our server Sherwyn was very attentive. We had an issue with one of the items, and he immediately rectified it with no question. He was also very open to educating us about the menu and let us to making a great choice. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely phenomenal. The food at Nirvana was unreal – every bite hit, but the Flag of India dish was next-level. The mint martini was delicious. Huge shoutout to Sherwyn, hands down the best server ever. Already looking forward to their Valentine’s Day specials! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went to Nirvana for the first time with my Fiancé and it was great, we had Sherwyn as our waiter. Immediately upon entering I noticed how amazing the atmosphere was. The decor is great with a fun history about it. We were immediately seated and had waters filled right away. He did let us know they were having technical difficulties which we were fine with as it was raining. He promptly took our order and it came out super fast and was delicious. I ordered the Masala Papad, the Flag of India, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and the Mint Martini. The Papad was really delicious and Sherwyn did let us know it was going to be spicy which I appreciate the heads up. The Flag of India included Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, and Malai Kebob, to which Sherwyn asked us what spice level we wanted and helped guide us to the best option for us. The butter chicken was very good and a generous portion. Malai Kebob was my personal favorite though that portion was smaller than the other two. Finally the Saag Paneer I did not love and think it lacked seasoning, but it was still good and also a generous portion. The Tandoori chicken was excellent though I wish the green chutney was spicier. The naan was standard and pretty good. We also had a large (massive) serving of rice. The Mint Martini deserves an award I loved it. In terms of service Sherwyn was very attentive as the only server on the floor. He made sure we had everything we need including refills on water, boxes, and if we needed more bread and what not. Overall it was a great experience and my partner and I look forward to dining again and having Sherwyn as our server!!

Sherwyn provided excellent service and the food was spectacular. This was our first time trying Indian food and our expectations could not be higher moving forward. Nirvana is a must stop for anyone in the city of New Orleans looking for Indian food that leaves you feeling at home.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was delicious and came out quickly. What really made our night was our server, Shrewyn, he was super friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to get service that good! We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Nirvana lives up to its name! We stopped by after a day at the Jazz Fest and were offered a special Jazz Fest menu, which we decided to try. We chose the Masala-crusted salmon appetizer, which was a generous portion for two people, and really delicious. The two entries we selected were the baby eggplants (baby bhenghan bartha); and the paneer Manchurian. Both were very good, but the paneer was one of the most delicious Indian dishes we’ve ever experienced. Both came with ample fragrant jasmine rice. We selected the garlic naan and the rice pudding for dessert. All were generous portions, especially given the price. The place is beautiful, the servers friendly, efficient, and deservedly proud of their restaurant and the food they are preparing. So glad we stumbled in!

My 5 year old son and I love going to Nirvana for lunch. They are very kid friendly with paper table cloths and crayons to occupy him while we wait for our food. Sherwyn, one of his favorite waiters, even brings him a mango lassi as soon as we sit down. The décor is quite beautiful with traditional Indian art depicting gods and goddesses, as well as subtle New Orleans themed murals. The colors are brilliant and the seats are super comfortable. The food is rave and crave worthy. Our favorites are garlic naan, samosa chaat, and Goan shrimp curry. We usually get the curry mild, but they can modify to your spice level preferences. There dishes are meant to be shared and come with delicious white rice with aromatic spices. Another bonus is that we always have leftovers which are even better the next day. They also have a brisk take out business. My husband and I occasionally pick up dinner from there and are always happy with our meals. Sound like a good idea for this cold wet Saturday night!

Made a trip to Magazine Street to try out luck at some Authentic Indian Food. No doubt that Nirvana Indian Cuisine was the spot as they have several orders being placed and picked up as we dined. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by friendly staff members such as Mr. Sherwyn and an inviting atmosphere, adorned with artwork that offers some insight to the culture.

The service at Nirvana Indian Cuisine was impeccable; Mr. Sherwyn was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and offered perfect recommendations to satisfy our appetite. He ensured that our dining experience was seamless and checked on us with awesome service!

My Curry and Naan was very tasty and flavorful. I will definitely be going back to try other tasty items on the menu.

Awesome Customer Service is a Win every time for me!

Sherwyn was our server tonight- he was so hospitable, and charismatic. Food was PHENOMENAL. My friend and I shared veggie samosas, garlic naan, shrimp tikka masala, and the mixed biryani. We had enough to take home, and Sherwyn made sure we had plenty of sauce for later. The price can’t be beat, either- we got all of that for under $60. Such a pretty restaurant as well! Will absolutely be coming back. Thank you!!!

Visited this place after seeing it has amazing reviews on Google. We started off with spring roll and mango lassi which was very good. Then for main course we ordered garlic naan and Nirvana special which had three gravies included in a plate like ginger, chicken, butter mutton gravy, and shrimp gravy with complementary rice. The portion for great for two people but the gravy was a total let down because both mutton and shrimp were undercooked. We definitely had higher expectations, but were not impressed. Spent around $70-$80 for two people which was totally not worth it.
