We stopped by as we were passing through from the beach. We received a mountain of food. Local seafood restaurants bring a bowl of hushpuppies to the table but they didn’t here. They did bring a bowl of additional condiments with the tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and ketchup already on the table. I wasn’t a fan of the tartar sauce. It had a heavy mayo flavor. Service was a little slow although it wasn’t busy. I had to signal for refills, to go boxes, and the check. Overall, the food was good and we would stop by again when in the area.

Traveling South bound thru the Darlington area and did a blind search for a good reviewed restaurant. We were ultimately surprised! This seafood restaurant was like an oasis in the middle of now where lol. Venue was big, staff were friendly & attentive. Great menu with numerous options. We went with the broiled and fried Mayflower Specials. Sides consisted of sweet baked potato, fried okra, coleslaw, and green beans. Food was presented well and the portions were huge. Seafood was cooked to perfection and not under or over done. We topped it off with a big piece of lemon meringue pie that was spot on delicious.
We will definitely make this a regular stop on our travels. I recommend this to any folks with in proximity of the 95 corridor. 5*****

First time we are here. WOW ! Had the fried haddock, French fries and slaw. EXCEPTIONAL ! Felt like l was up at Hampton Beach NH at an ocean side restaurant, or Point Judith RI sitting on a second story deck overlooking the ocean eating great sea food. It’s hard to find anything as outstanding as Mayflower Sea Food in this area. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The kitchen knows how to do fish very well. We will definitely recommend this restaurant and return.
Edit: we had company from out of state this past week end. (Feb 1st) I have been telling them what great food and service they have here. So we went out to eat..OK.. now, never going there again on a Sunday. From the second we walked through the door things were OFF. It was fairly busy. I asked for a booth and you’d think I was asking for her to perform an act of God.
What a look and and a snarly reply saying “I have to get one cleared, wait here !. After being seated a few minutes a waitress comes over to take drink orders.. she never returned. Then another waitress comes over and asked what we want for drinks.. She looks dumbfounded when we tell her the other one took our drink orders. Finally the first one brings our drinks. Not a smile to be seen there. Then she takes our food orders. After a veryong wait the food finally showed up. Minus the cole slaw for two of us. What I wouldn’t suggest ordering here it that loaded potato for sure. I ordered the 16oz rib eye. Last time I got one it was extraordinary. This time not so much. It was as much fat and grissle as meat. I ordered it rare. Last time it was perfect rare. This time it was actually Raw in the center. We have been going there fairly frequently and never been disappointed before. All I can is Never going there again on a Sunday.

Absolutely the worst food I have in a year, which also came from the Mayflower in Darlington. Our fried mushrooms were good. Shrimp scampi was burnt and rubbery. Hudhpuppies, fries, baked potato were all old and cold. Popcorn shrimp and deviled crab had zero flavor. Oysters not cooked done. Flounder had grease running out of it. Tasted like old oil. We will never go back!

We both ordered the daily special. If you like to eat alot…this is your place. I ordered fried popcorn shrimp and fried deviled crab and it was piled so high it was hard to eat without it falling off the plate onto the table!! Very tasty but way to much food for me. Ask about portion size before ordering!!

STEAK STEAK STEAK STEAK AND STEAK! Just order it! Do it! Thank me later. Absolutely the BEST STEAK anywhere in S.C! Oh…and SCALLOPS! Good golly miss molly the service is fantastic, the serving sizes are ridiculously generous. Ate until it hurt and stil had a FULL to go box. Highly recommend. Will be back for sure!

Took my family for my mom’s birthday, on a Sunday. We arrived before the post church rush, around 1230, which I recommend because it got a little busy when we left and a few families were waiting for tables. But if we had to wait, it would have totally been worth it. I got the shrimp special for 15.99 and it was a Mount Everest of beautifully fried tiny shrimps and was absolutely delicious. The ranch we suspected was homemade. My mom got the hamburger steak with loaded baked potato. The hamburger was dosed in hot tasty gravy and onions, while the potato was dressed with sour cream and cheese. My brother in law got the baked spaghetti which would have been my second choice. My sister got the broiled salmon, it looked perfectly cooked and lightly crispy. Fried mushrooms for appetizer were so crispy and had a little bit of a spicy kick. Portions for all were enough for two meals, we all enjoyed a dinner of leftovers. Bathroom was very clean despite the large amount of customers. Waitresses were super nice and made sure we had refills and everything else we needed. I rate the Mayflower a 9.5/10. A perfect spot for a family meal, appropriate sea/boating related decor, ample parking lot. Recommended for seafood lovers and haters alike. We will definitely be going back.

It was Valentine’s Day, it was packed. We called our order in and chose to do take out. But despite them being busy, the girl on the phone was pleasant. When I went inside to pick up my order the girl doing the take outs, immediately ask if she could help me, I gave her my name and she pulled up order, it wasn’t quite ready. A few minutes later the hostess ask what name, pulled it up and said it wasn’t ready and proceeded to tell me she would go to the back and check on it. It was ready a few minutes later. The check out lady got my condiments. The were all so pleasant and cheerful despite being so busy.

I used to go to the 1 yall had in Cheraw. When it closed down. I was sad. This was my 1st time coming to this 1. I rode with a neighbor here. The food was amazing. Even had leftovers to bring home. Definitely coming back.
