I have been going to the Golden Bengal for a while and I can say that they always have the same quality. A very good one. I like very much the Vindaloo lamb, the butter chicken is delicious as well.

1. They don’t even make chapati – even street merchant who sleeps outside can make chapatii in their sleep, they only have bought in Nan (with eggs).

2. Daughter ordered paneer €8 for a main, which arrived with only two small sugar cube size paneer cubes .
My wife mentioned it to the waiter , he went on to tell us (apparently) in France all indian restaurants only give two pieces , that’s the rules – that comment was unbelievable.

3. see photo, that was pilau rice, it was more rice pudding and felt like it had just been microwaved.

Keep well away from this resturant if your from England and like nice curries, if your French then you won’t know the difference so carry on…

After a lovely day in the Palace, what a poor experience…

Golden Bengal, located near Versailles, offers a delightful experience for those craving authentic Indian cuisine. During our visit, we ordered naan, biryani, seekh kababs and lamb curry, and each dish left a memorable impression.

The seekh kabab was warm, soft, and perfectly textured, serving as an excellent accompaniment to the meal. The garlic naan had the right balance of fluffiness and chewiness, making it a great start to our dining experience.

The biryani was a highlight of the meal. It was flavorful and aromatic, with the rice cooked to perfection and the spices well-blended, creating a dish that was both rich and satisfying. The portion size was generous, and the mix of ingredients ensured a burst of flavor in every bite.

The lamb curry was another standout. The lamb was tender and succulent, cooked just right to absorb the rich and spicy curry. The sauce was robust and had a depth of flavor that spoke of traditional cooking techniques and quality ingredients.

Overall, Golden Bengal excels in delivering a satisfying and authentic Indian dining experience. The quality of food and the attention to detail in each dish make it a restaurant worth visiting if you’re near Versailles.

Interiors, food and hospitality give a taste of the Indian culture. Good for Indians who miss their food and for non-Indians who want to taste Indian delicacies. The highlight of the place is the staff who is extremely friendly, sweet and simple. We had butter chicken and biryani and highly recommend it. Cheers!!

It was very awkward sitting and eating the whole time. We had entered nearabouts their closing time, around 2.30 pm but that doesn’t mean you will treat us like you can’t wait for us to leave. They were constantly staring at us and gossiping about us in Bengali. The whole ambience was awkward. Even when they opened the door while we were leaving, they had our backs to us. I don’t know how they are surviving as a restaurant. And btw, the biryani we ordered was really bad and really expensive with almost stale chicken. All in all, NOT worth it.

Friendly welcome with a traditional Indian restaurant vibe. My main dish was delicious, but the starters lacked a bit of flavour for us. Loved the kingfisher beer though

Typical French Indian restaurant. Nothing outstanding though they use chicken breast rather than thighs or so in their curries, which I prefer.

The good side of it it’s that they open later than other places ao great for late dinners but waiter will try to kick you out quick (fair enough I guess)

I asked for spicy Bengal chicken and he said order vindaloo because the curry is the same than why the difference in price and item listings. Which is nonsense as Bengal chicken is no where similar to vindaloo. The server was nice and they allowed our dog so three star. Pick Punjab restaurant, it is much better at the same cost
