I recently visited Spicy Venue on Custer Rd in Frisco for their lunch veg thali, and I was truly impressed. Everything tasted fresh and felt like a proper homemade Andhra meal.

The dal was delicious, perfectly spiced and comforting. The poori was soft and served hot, which really elevated the meal. I have to mention their Beerakaya Roti Pachadi — it was outstanding! Very authentic flavor and something you don’t usually find in most restaurants.

They also served a fry along with the thali, and it was excellent—crispy, flavorful and definitely one of the highlights on the plate.

Overall, the taste, quality and portion size were totally worth it. If you’re looking for authentic South Indian vegetarian food in Frisco, I highly recommend trying the veg thali at Spicy Venue. I’m already planning to go back!

Last week, my friends and I went to a restaurant and discovered a 1+1 offer on chicken biryanis. We tried the boneless chicken biryani and chicken dum biryani, and they were both flavorful and delicious. We also ordered the chicken pulao, which was equally tasty. I originally ordered mutton dum biryani, but it was replaced with ghee roast mutton biryani since it’s a popular choice there. However, I didn’t enjoy it as it was overly sweet with too much onion gravy. It didn’t have the expected mutton curry flavor, which was quite disappointing. Overall, while some dishes were great, I wouldn’t recommend the ghee roast mutton biryani.

Not a Great Experience

The service was poor and really slow, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. There were plenty of people working in the kitchen and behind the counter, so not sure why the delay. The food was just okay—definitely not the kind of Indian-style biryani we were expecting. The appetizers were actually better than the biryanis. Overall, kind of a letdown.

Second time here for different kind of cuisines. First visit – the service was quick and Paneer done IndoChinese hit all the flavors right. Second visit – Chicken Biryani done the Hyderabadi way – no extra food colors, no over the top additives. Just fragrant Basmati and deeply cooked Masalas. But that’s not even the best part. The best part was both the times, the Chefs came out to talk and ask how the preparation was and took feedback for future dishes. Overall, good people, good vibes and good food!

We visited this eatery for the South Indian brunch buffet. The food comprising typical South Indian fare was largely above average while offering excellent value for money. The only concern was hygiene or lack thereof. Three issues merit attention 1) Absence of soap in
men’s toilet (fortunately there was soap at the sinks outside 2) garbage station in immediate proximity of the water fountain overflowing with styrofoam trays disposed off by customers. 3) Absence of hand sanitizers in the buffet area. In South Asian culture food is eaten with fingers. And that is also the case at this restaurant. And when customers go for a refill inevitably they are touching the serving spoons with tne fingers that was used for eating. The thought of that is plainly gross.

Some attention to basic hygiene and first world cleanliness will elevate the experience at this otherwise superb eatery

My Mother and I had visited Suravi’s Chapter 1 on Stonebrook Pkwy in Frisco last year and previously enjoyed their Goat Ghee Roast Biriyani. I had seen sometime last year that they were having an opening for their second location on Custer and ElDorado and just got around to eating here for lunch for the first time today. A bit out of our way since we live in The Colony, but still not too bad of a drive. It is worth the distance just to enjoy comfort food.

We had a hankering for Goat Ghee Roast Biriyani and the nice young lady at the front – Rekha – also recommended the Cilantro Chicken! Both dishes were excellent!

Oh, the myriad of flavors and tantalizing spices in both dishes that packed a punch, lingered on the palate, and made for a life-changing culinary journey and experience. It was so tasty! The goat meat pieces were so succulent and well-seasoned and practically fell off the bone. I would request and advise the Chef not to cut them too small since bone fragments may cause a choking hazard to patrons.

Indian Food should be delightfully spicy (not fire-breathing dragon hot, but slightly numbing). It was a balanced/comfortable spice level 2; I cannot imagine anything higher than that, but if you can do it, more power to you. Prices and portions are also in line with which I would feel comfortable without compromising on quality.

Nice setup with a modern, industrial feel. We were the only patrons for the first 45 minutes of opening. Order and pay at the counter and they call your name when your food is ready. If we are in the area again, we would certainly return and try other Menu items.

I have ordered a chicken fried rice and doesn’t taste good. The fried rice has odd smell, not sure if it’s oil or chicken

We have visited several times. All of the dishes we have tried have been fabulous, good heat and flavor profile. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. The price point is mid range for the area, but they also have good bogo deals on most Wednesdays.

We went for breakfast buffet today. It was unlimited Buffett $11.99 per head. Food was very horrible. Idli was dry, vada tasted like paper. Curries are smelling bad and dosa was also smelling bad. Not even one item tasted good. It seems like they are serving old food. This place deserves 0 starts.

I was at this place for dinner last night.
I tried the buy one get one free pulav and biryani combo.
My order was one Vijaywada Chicken Biryani and one Cashew Paneer Pulav.
My honest review is that the cashew paneer pulav was good. The paneer was soft and appeared fresh.
The vijaywada biryani was bad. I can clearly taste and know that chicken is not fresh. The chicken had a chewy texture and was rubbery.
It appears that the chicken would have been fried long ago.

The last one I want specifically highlight is their pricing scam.
A biryani is priced at $15.99 if you buy it without the BOGO offer. But if you go with BOGO it is $18.99 and with tax it comes to $20 ish.
They think customers are fools.
So you claim to offer bogo but raise the price.
Mind you I see your ad again and again in all WhatsApp groups
The reason why you are forced to offer BOGO is because you don’t have enough sales to begin with.
Don’t fleece people.
