The broth was rich and flavorful (especially the creamy soup base), and the ingredients were very fresh. The beef and seafood were high quality and nicely presented. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out quickly.
Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend!
Decided to eat there for the first time with my girls. Sat down and when we were about to order, the guy asked if we’re getting beef malatang he remembered me and my usual asked for extraaaaa spicy because I wanted spicyyy. never spicy enough for me anywhere in US. Nevertheless, still delish~ But it was spicy for my 9yo that enjoys spicy. Ordered regular beef malatang a few times for takeout after forgetting to mention spice level. They’re just good in general. My kids had oranges afterwards in the back where there’s some extra side dishes and sauces you can get. I guess we can eat there in person more often in the future.
The meat quality & soup base is good. The venue itself is elegant and transports you back to Chinese antiquity.
Well organized sauces and some complimentary side dishes.
Impressive selection of wines that include Opus One & Caymus at reasonable prices. A pint of Asahi or Sapporo draft can be had for $5.
If you are not familiar with hotpot dining. It’s a must visit because there is so much to explore. It will excite not just your taste buds but also your visual senses.
The only reason it did NOT receive 5 stars ⭐️ is because for $45 per person I can go to AYCE hotpot in Westbury…
I wish they would add hoisin sauce to their sauce bar! But they do have Lao Gan Ma which is my favorite.
Let’s start with the atmosphere. The restaurant is nicely decorated, has a cozy feel, and was pretty clean for the most part. This could be a date spot for sure, but by no means do you have to dress up.
The service was very good. We were seated right away, and a waitress got us started with our orders. We had a couple of questions that were answered right away. There was an older couple who had a ton of questions, and the waitress literally walked them through everything. Even took them to the back to show them the sauces and extras. They were all polite, and I really can’t rave enough about them.
Now for the main event, THE FOOD! Ordering was simple, check the boxes you want, and that’s it. Any mistakes can be fixed since the waitress goes over it with you. We opted for a large, 2 soup bowl. It was tremendous in size. We actually didn’t finish it. We picked the mushroom broth and the pork leg broth. The mushroom one was light but strong and had mushrooms already cooking in it. The pork was a rich creamy white with some type of sweet fruit and corn in it. For mix in stuff, we went with a combo 1 just because it was easy. All 4 meats had strong flavor profiles, but the beef and pork belly tasted similar when cooked. The veggies and fungus cooked up very well, and the lettuce held so much broth flavor. The noodles were a pain in the butt to cook, and that’s the only thing I don’t think I’ll order again.
We did order the spicy beef tripe for an appetizer, and it was fantastic. The texture was good, not too chewy. And the flavor was so strong. Highly recommended as long as you don’t mind what it is.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I’ll come back. Next time, I’ll try a smaller lunch portion.
