The food is outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was packed with authentic taste, from the perfectly seasoned appetizers to the main courses that were cooked just right. You can tell they take pride in both quality and consistency.
Portions are generous, service is fast without feeling rushed, and the menu has a great variety, so there’s something for everyone whether you’re craving sushi, noodles, or classic Asian favorites.
This has officially become one of our go-to spots. Highly recommend Takara if you’re looking for great food, great service, and a place that delivers every time!
I think this is a great value for the price; we had two rolls (rainbow and Fort Worth), which weren’t “overriced” or huge with no filling. We also had the steamed shumai, which were fine and I wouldn’t order again — I think I’m used to and prefer a pork/shrimp xiumai from a dim sum joint. The miso soup was spot on, but not as hot as I’d like. Our whole bill was in the mid-30s, and we’re excited to go back and try the bento boxes and ramen, since those also look like fantastic options.
In a sea of chain restaurants or businesses that don’t last, I hope Takara is in it for the long haul — the food was fresh and the fish quality was great, service was good, ordering was easy, and we’ll definitely be back.
The spring rolls were just as bad: soggy on the inside and clearly undercooked.
When I requested a refund, I was told they would have to refund the entire check and then make me re-purchase the soda separately. After already spending $22 on food I couldn’t eat, I wasn’t willing to give them any more money just to wait for a refund. I had to leave and find another restaurant, meaning I had to spend additional money just to get an edible meal.
To make it worse, I was told the menu stated the rice was sushi rice. That is simply not true — the menu clearly says steamed rice.
As a foodie who enjoys trying new spots around the DFW area, this was a complete waste of time and money. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
