Me and my mom went for a late lunch/early dinner today after a doctor’s appointment. I can’t say enough about this establishment! The food was absolutely delicious!! The vegetable samosas were by far the best I’ve ever had. The outside was nice and crunchy and the inside was so light and fluffy and it had the perfect amount of saltiness to make you want more! My mom is vegan and they made sure that she had exactly what she wanted and it was vegan. I had chicken tikka masala which was absolutely delicious. The garlic naan was also fabulous. The manager, Lincoln came out and talked to us and was so very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant. They are more then happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Just couldn’t be happier! Will definitely be back!!
P.s. We live in West Haven, happened to be in the area, but I would drive back up to eat here again. Even just for another samosa!!

Looking at good reviews I thought I’ll give it a try. Mistake! Huge mistake! Gobhi manchurian was almost no gobhi fried batter in a thick funky starchy gravy! No onions or pepper or sauce in it! Look at the pictures! And chowmain was old and bland. No flavor in it and the only vegetables in it (cabbage and carrots) were old and smelly. Unbelievable that this kind of food is being served! Are you guys stupid or what!??? Absolutely disgusting! Shame on you!! Hope you close soon! Please don’t go to this place as this is not how Indian Nepalese food looks or taste like! Also, mango lassi (old, curd splitting) arrived in a container!!!
Update- I threw up and got really sick after 1/2 hour of eating may be 2 bites of food and half mango lassi!

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Absolutely delicious and fresh Nepalese food. Excellent portions, spiced perfectly and very friendly staff. Would recommend any dish but the samosas were the best I’ve ever had.

Celebrated my mom’s birthday here and it couldn’t have been more special. The staff went above and beyond to make the evening feel personal and welcoming. Every dish was packed with flavor —from the dumplings to the chicken vindaloo, everything tasted authentic and fresh. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, perfect for a family celebration. I can’t say enough good things about Himalaya Restaurant! The owner was absolutely wonderful so kind, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. It felt like he genuinely cared about making sure I had a great experience. The food was amazing the chicken tikka masala was full of flavor and perfectly cooked, the garlic naan was soft and delicious, and the mango lassi was out of this world seriously the best I’ve ever had. This place doesn’t just serve great food, it makes you feel at home. I’ll definitely be back again and again!

We went earlier this week. It was my first time there and WE WILL BE COMING BACK!!! The food was amazing and the staff was excellent! The newer manager is on his game and has amazing plans for the place! It’s already great but I can’t wait to see it develop!

Incredible first experience. I ordered the Lamb Tikka masala and Chicken Bhuna lunch specials and I don’t think I’ve had a better tikka masala in my life. I ordered two lunches simply because I could not fathom getting a decent sized portion for under $10. Boy was I wrong, two massive pieces of naan for each meal and a boxes stuffed with food.
My only critiques:
– chicken in the bhuna was decently dry, but the bonus points from the lamb tikka masala being literally perfect lead me to not take off any stars.
– VERY messy. Obviously not too important however I work in an office and taking this back to my desk required a full clean up simply because the sauce spilled out of the box and got all over the bag, outside of the box. Hoping next time this could be a little more considered, but does not take away from my experience.
Will DEFINITELY be back regularly!
