They managed to keep their prices low and portions good without sacrificing quality over many years. The salmon kama (cheek) was very tender on the inside and had crispy edges. It came with much salad and steamed rice. The $12.95 price is definitely unbeatable.
The ginger chicken was tender and there’s a large bowl of chicken and mushrooms over rice, with a very tasty sauce.

If you don’t like the taste of fish or having any flavor but want good looking sushi, then this is the place for you. It looks great on the plate. I didn’t realize you could have rolls with so much color and look appetizing but have absolutely 0 flavor. Waste of time and money. Great place to take your picky child if you want to introduce them because they can’t say anything about the taste. But, at least the staff was friendly.

Best sushi in San Diego hands down. Great prices, decent portions, and amazing staff! Always so welcoming and helpful when we come in. Been going here for over 10 years, so sad they closed their second location but I’m glad the OG is still standing and it deserves to stay up for as long as possible. Go to sushi place to recommend. This place is a solid 3 star average restaurant. It’s not bad but I always think it’ll get better and we would give it another try but each time, it has failed me and they are just average. They used to have two locations but now they are down to just this location.
Always friendly and quick service. The parking lot can be busy on game day at McGreggors. They have two assign spaces in front.
We got spicy edamame, bbq wings which tasted like teriyaki wings because it was so sweet, lemon roll and baked lobster roll. The lemon roll was refreshing with a hint of citrus.
Any of the baked rolls are good. Our past favorites have been the dynamite and pizza roll.
There are tables inside and outside.

Love this place . The food is really good and nice reasonable priced. For two people we usually pay $40-$50 , when I go it’s not that busy which tells me not everyone knows how great this place is. With all the expensive sushi places these days it’s nice to know I can get a great meal without going broke

Absolute best sushi not just in San Diego but all of Southern California! Always fresh, never disappointing. Best combination of flavors! And the prices are beyond reasonable. Outstanding service! This is always our number one go to when we are craving. Sometimes it’s multiple times a week! 🙂 if you haven’t had even a basic roll from this place, you are missing out.

Just discovered our local Japanese izakaya, Chiba! Prices are fantastic! And we were happily surprised the food was prepared well with food ingredients. The salmon teriyaki plate was so much food for a great price, salmon cooked perfectly, not overdone, and a big portion. Seafood ramen broth was delicious, though these noodles are not my favorite. Spicy salmon roll, solid. Seaweed salad, solid. And can’t go wrong with large beers or large sake for around $6! Excellent service as well. Overall this is a go-to spot for us to take the family out, won’t break the bank and we can get our foodie fix.
