We had an amazing dinner at Cielo Bellevue. Our waiter Daniel was incredibly kind and attentive, and the rest of the staff was equally warm and professional—they even brought us extra plates and a bowl since we were sharing dishes.
The food exceeded expectations from start to finish. The chips and salsa were outstanding—fresh, homemade, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with real ingredients (not store-bought chips). The Tiraditos de Atún were fresh and flavorful, with a bright, balanced sauce that added texture and complexity.
The Birria Ramen was a standout—tender, juicy birria in a rich consommé used as ramen broth, with noodles, pickled onions, and fresh cilantro. It’s creative, hearty, and deeply satisfying. The Enchiladas Enmoladas with mole poblano were equally impressive: flavorful but balanced mole, juicy carnitas, and high-quality tortillas where you could taste the corn.
You can tell Cielo takes pride in their ingredients and cooking. The flavors are layered, not one-dimensional, and the dishes are crafted with real care.
Pros: Excellent quality for the price, generous portions, genuinely attentive Mexican staff, and a relaxed, homey atmosphere. We came looking for a casual dinner and left thoroughly impressed.
Cons: Parking can be a bit tricky, but their website provides clear directions and a diagram that helps a lot.
We’ll definitely be back!
Cielos has some good offerings. I was impressed with their Carne Asada entree. The beef was marinated and seasoned well. It was tender and easy to cut into. The flavor of the carne asada blended well with the side of rice and beans.
I ordered a pink coconut cocktail and it was absolutely done right. A good amount of coconut balanced out the sweetness. It was not overpowering. I would definitely order.thie again.
The churros were a bit of a disappointment. They were overfried and harder to chew into. There was not enough cinnamon since th exterior piece of it did not take to the seasoning. I would definitely not order this again.
Parking is available across the street for free the first 3 hours in the garage. That makes it much better.
First, their food is fresh, it’s made in house, and it never disappoints. We have been coming here for a few years now and the quality is consistent. I personally live the Pollo Carbon, but everything we have tried is amazing.
They have excellent customer service. We sometimes ask for extra sauce, to try a small taste of something before we order, and the staff is always willing to get what we need.
Specifically, our server Pablo, was so kind to my three boys, and even encouraged us to take our time deciding our meal. I feel so often, especially with kids, restaurants are just trying to turn over tables, so to be encouraged to take our time was so lovely. He gave us a small taste of the mole sauce, and even ran our credit card back out to us (which we had sheepishly forgot!).
It is one of the few restaurants in Bellevue that we frequent due to their tasty food and super kind staff.
We also had them cater my 7 y/o birthday party last month. The food was excellent then too, and we had more than enough to feed our party crew!
I can’t speak highly enough of El Cielo.

For my main, I ordered the spinach enchiladas from the vegetarian menu. The dish was served hot and full of flavor. While the portion size was just enough for one, a slightly larger serving would’ve made it even better. Still, it was delicious and satisfying.
I rarely find myself enjoying food at Mexican restaurants, but this place stood out, it’s one of the few I’d genuinely return to.
The ambience is warm and welcoming, tucked away in a quiet complex surrounded by upscale buildings and restaurants. I hadn’t heard of this place before my team suggested it, but I’m glad I discovered it.
Would I come back? Absolutely. I’m looking forward to trying more vegetarian options on the menu.
There is a parking garage below the restaurant that you can park in for free if you dine here.
