been going to this place for YEARS and the only time i come back again it tasted like nothing like a honduran baleada. I usually get plain baleadas but this time i tried out a baleada con todo and let me tell you, it did not taste good at all. i couldn’t even finish it at all cause it just kept tasting weird so i only ate the tortilla. i don’t know what happen but this place used to be great.

The typical dated small boulevard strip mall. I’ve learned that’s where you find the true authentic restaurants and this is no exception. Situated next to a psychic reader (of course) I originally pulled in because I saw the sign tacos locos but this restaurant was located right next door and I peeked my head inside and saw nothing but authentic Latin atmosphere. When the waitress greeted me with a huge smile and said something in Spanish and I look perplexed she asked me if I spoke Spanish. And when I said no she became even more friendlier. Clearly I was the only Caucasian guy in the restaurant modelo’s were abundantly placed in front of all the male patrons and the music was loud. She asked if I needed any assistance with the menu and I said no that one looks good and she said that’s the fried pork chop. Would you like rice and beans with that and a salad and some tortillas and I said”yes sounds great” 5 minutes later the plate of food came out and it was amazing there was even an extra bonus section of fried pork chop on my plate The salad was simple the rice and beans were done to perfection and the tortillas came in a quantity of five which was one more than I could possibly eat. I will definitely be back and if I was to recommend this to anybody I would say do not pass go do not collect $200 get there immediately you will not be disappointed. When I go back hopefully the psychic reader will be open

I would have given it a 5 star because the food was on point, but these people took fooooor ever to attend and serve us. At first, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. To then realize, people who kept showing up that knew them as they would greet them by name, were taken care of, before us. I counted a good set of 6-7 different people were taken care of before us. The server was nice but looked suspect. He would power walk to the cash register to checkout the people who walked in after us and looking towards us waiting. He’ll whisper something to them, then they’ll all turn to look at us. We stared back and they’ll quickly look away. Non the less we waited a good 50mins for the 1st meal and an extra 15mins for my meal course to arrive so yes, about an hour and change. Seriously uncomfortable but oh well.

If I could give the service here ZERO STARS it’d still be generous!!! How does 2 chicken tacos PLAIN literally chicken and cheese cost over $10 when the posted prices very clearly state $2.99 each. I’ll tell you the 2 different answers I received. So my husband was told the extra $4 was for the cheese and a tiny cup of sour cream on the side which completely rendered me speechless when he got home so I called cuz that can’t possibly be right. The woman who answered spoke little to no English again that’s being generous and proceeded to tell me that they don’t have a 2 taco order only a 4 count which was even more ridiculous because how does someone come in ORDER 2 TACOS U SAY NOTHING ABOUT THIS 4 TACO MINIMUM AND JUST MAKE THE 2 AND THEN WHAT CHARGE ME FOR 4 AND BLAME IT ON CHEESE AND SOUR CREAM AS IF FOUR EXTRA BUCKS IS EVEN CLOSE TO REASONABLE. Of course I had to end the conversation on the phone because not only did she not understand what I was saying she didn’t even remember the only 2 people that were just there ordering 2 tacos 3 1/2 minutes prior!!! Wasn’t worth getting even more worked up but as good as their tacos are I will never spend another penny with them which stinks cuz they really are good tacos. Las Carnitas is just as good and the service is just as PHENOMENAL as the prices!!! TACO TUESDAYS!!!

I recently visited La Progresena Restaurant in Pompano Beach, and I can’t recommend this place enough! As someone who misses the flavors of home, finding a spot that makes authentic Honduran food is such a delight. The baleadas here are absolutely fantastic, packed with flavor and just like the ones back home. I also tried the chicken Honduras tacos, and they were incredible—juicy, well-seasoned, and truly mouthwatering. The warm, friendly atmosphere and the delicious, authentic dishes make La Progresena Restaurant a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Honduras. You won’t be disappointed!
