We were pleasantly surprised to find out we were just 5 minutes down the road from The Lodge McMenamins. We ate at the Ironwork Grill – bonus, we were there for happy hour after 9pm and feasted on a handful of food items. Great vibe and great service.

We ate here twice during our stay and both times were unsatisfactory.
First, we ordered the chicken Caeser and it looked like a side salad with dry chicken tender pieces. I asked the server if it was the actual size and she said “yes”. Not worth $20.
The next morning we ordered room service, mind you they didn’t have many gluten friendly options. My husband got the breakfast burrito which consisted of old bacon and mostly wrap. I ordered the cheesecake which was to covered in melted whipped cream to cover the charred top.
We’ve dined at several McMenamins and this was by far the worst food we have experienced. The service was wonderful … McMenamins’ servers are always great! Please do better on the food.

We were a party of 11. We had just attended my Grand Daughter’s volleyball state play off games. Everyone enjoyed being there! That building itself is Amazing! Food service was great! Loved the Ruby beer!

I always hate leaving reviews for restaurants because I know the management often places the blame on the server and line cook and not themselves. Let me be clear, the servers and cooks are overworked and underpaid, they did more than you could expect of them.
The quality, variety, and creativity of food across ALL McMenamins locations has decreased over the last ten years.
So whoever is at the very top of the dining side of McMenamins should be rethinking their strategy. Because to me it looks like they are cutting corners, wages, and purchasing less local fresh ingredients.

We were sat at a dirty table to begin with. I had the steak fries and my steak came whole, not cut in strips. No cherry in my daughters Shirley Temple.(half the reason she orders them). My moscow mule came in a glass…strange! None of us loved our food. Our multiple servers were nice thankfully.

The ambience is always great at McMenamins, but like others have said, I feel like the quality has gone down while the prices have gone up. Servers seem overworked and the whole hotel seems understaffed in my opinion.

McMenamins! Always a sure bet on everything from atmosphere to food! Service always exceeds expectations. As an out-of-towner, the Grand Lodge has always been a mainstay, as does their “Ironwork Grill.” Even just for drinks at the bar, the peculiar and bizarre setting adds to the adventure and mystique! If you haven’t been, try it! If you have, well… you know!

Another favorite Mcmenamins location. Ironwork grill is one of a few spots at the Grand Lodge for food and drinks. Every time I’ve gone, the waiters and waitresses are super friendly. They have a downstairs live music section also. Food as always is over the top delicious, as well as their beer selection.
