Reviews
8-price mixed chicken
1 large mashed and gravy
1 large red bean and rice
2 biscuits/2 cornbread
1 lbs ribs
Total was about $60
Took about 10 minutes to make the order.
Chicken are crisp and tasted very similar to the old Browns that they combined with and took over. Very moist and cooked perfectly.
Sides were all fairly tasty
Ribs are seasoned nicely, really liked their sauce.
For $60 there is easily enough to feed 4-5 people so $12-$15 per person is not bad in 2025. I’ll definitely order the chicken again, I’m not a high fan of smoked meats.
I’m reading the reviews. Bro idk what’s wrong with the people giving 1 stars they are definitely Karens.
I came out to this place a few days ago. I can’t stop thinking about it. Unfortunately I’m 50 mins away from this place, I only wish I was closer.
I was on the way to take care of something, I pulled up to the Burger King next to the side of this hidden gem. I cancelled my burger king order and went right inside this place. Warmly greeted, I felt like this was home and super welcoming. I ordered a brisket and fried chicken. Great pricing, all definitely well prepared and home made. This was just a great experience; this place deserves your visit.
This is not a huge place, but, it’s in the now defunct Brown’s chicken building on belvedere road.
Let me say this, Jeff, the Boss man and owner, is the real deal. And the only reason I found out about this place, my wife stopped and bought some barbecue to bring home. And wow! I mean wow. The corn pudding, wow, the shrimp, wow the brisket, wow the rib tips, wow the collards, wow the biscuits, wow and anything else they’ve got there, wow! It’s very rare nowadays that you find a place that does everything really good. Dino’s is kind of like that up at Captain Porky’s, but Jeff’s test kitchen definitely has his barbecued meats beat. And that’s saying a lot! I met people from all over this region coming to see Jeff and check out his barbecue. Quite a few first timers, so that tells you the word is spreading. Jeff learned his trade choice in Alabama, any picked it up as good as it is in about 5 years. That’s impressive. So the only thing I can say, is you got to stop in, order some of everything, and understand that it’s much less expensive than the other places around in this area. You might not want to do it every week, or several times a week, but whenever, it’s a treat! And, it’s fam. And everybody talks to everybody else, so it’s not just a place to get food, it’s a place where you come together with your brothers and sisters of all stripes! And that’s something that we don’t have very much of in this world right now. I’ll be back, take it from Dreddog, there is no possible way you can go wrong. Oh and special mention the cobbler, yum yum yum.
This is the best BBQ and service I have ever had. Blows Big Ed’s out the water at half the price. For $19 dollars I got 9 ribs, 2 sides(7 corn fritters and large cup of mac and cheese), cornbread, pickles, and a large cup of sauce.
The bbq is unbelievable. It’s the perfect balance of seasoning and sauce. Many places focus soley on seasoning and have no glaze, this place has an excellent glaze on their meat. Their food is also not overly fatty and greasy like many places.
The nicest workers I’ve ever met. They let me taste test some meats and turkey were fun to talk to. I walked in and ordered and was served in less than 5 min.
If you want good bbq that doesn’t make you feel horrible, is cheap, and feels welcoming – ditch big Ed’s. Come here !!!
