We had a great experience here. We got the Satay, green curry and a couple other things. Everything was great. Fast and efficient service as you would expect. I love that it’s a BYOB place with a liquor store right next door, so convenient.
We’ll be coming back again for sure.

Went here to meet a party and they let us close out the place! The green curry with tofu was amazing and I wasn’t in the mood for overly spicy food and their “mild” was perfect for the mood I was in. Thai iced coffee was good, and my kids even tried new dishes (the fried banana was just ok). The pot stickers are a YES. My daughter loved her chicken and rice dish that was “so good and creamy”. We will definitely return (but probably pass on the fried banana.. not bad just.. different).

The food is pretty good, if you like Thai food you’ll like this. It’s not really meant to be extravagant. However, the prices are really high for the little amount of food you get. I was still hungry after spending $25 on 1 dish. Tip: don’t come here hungry.
The place does have a nice cozy feel. However, the men’s washroom is extremely tiny, the toilet seat points at the sink, so you have to angle your body sideways. There’s no room to stand, and because the sink is so close to everything, when people wash there hands, water gets on everything.
The service though could use a little help. It always seemed like the lady was upset about something.

Nice experience at Green Leaf. I ordered the papaya salad and requested it non-spicy since I’m not a fan of spicy food. Though it came with a slight kick, I still really enjoyed it.
The waitress was attentive and brought me water right away, which I always appreciate. The food arrived quickly. Overall, a great spot with delicious food and excellent service!

Green Leaf Thai may be one of the lesser known Thai spots in the city but our recent visit proved that it’s worth checking out. As stated on the cover of their menu, the food delivered authentic Thai spice levels. The larb was perfect. It hit every note just right: slightly sweet, addictively tangy, smoky, spicy, and had great crunch from a generous amount of toasted rice. Truly one of the best versions of this dish that I’ve had. The gai yang (grilled chicken) and papaya salad were solid. The dark meat parts of the chicken were moist and flavorful with nice flavors from the lemongrass. However, the white meat parts were quite bland. The chicken also could have used a bit more char for smokiness. The papaya salad was a bit too sweet for my taste but still had a nice crunch and freshness.

Tried a new place for us. We love Thai food and we’re in the neighborhood. The chicken satay was average. The peanut sauce was good but not great. We ordered Panang Curry and Pad Prik King spicy. It was nice they asked how hot and we went to the hotest. The curry was the better of the two. It was spicy but for us not too much. The value and portions were good. Overall decent but have had better.

Off of several recommendations, I threw my friend a bachelor party here. We had a buffet set up with Pad Se Eew, Fried Enoki Mushrooms, Green Curry, Tiger Cry, Beef Jerky, Basil Pork, Isan Sausage Balls. And topped it off with Mango Sticky Rice.
All 100% recommended. All of the guys literally had great things to say about the food and were even asking for the recipes. A big chunk of us are Thai so we’ve definitely had a lot to compare to.
Can’t say enough about the service, and about the owner/Manager Deer. He was very attentive to us and made sure we had everything that we needed. He also took the time on a busy Friday night to hang out with us for a bit.
I live out in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago but this place is well worth the drive and I’ll definitely be coming back.

So delicious. Best tiger cry I’ve ever had, extremely tender and flavorful. Pad ka prow with pork was so perfect. Excellent value and service.

Well this used to be another restaurant called Thai Oscar that was now closed and went out of business which became Green Leaf Thai. My friend just picked me up from my donating blood and I offered him dinner out since I didn’t want to pay for Uber after donating blood and didn’t bring my cars. Anyways the Thai food was a meh ok if not subpar. Such a disappointment. The Thai ice tea was bland if not that sweet. My friend ordered a hibiscus beverage that he said was ok. The steam shrimp shumai did not have a wow taste to it but it wasn’t bad. The chicken Tom kha soup needs some improvement as the chicken they cooked was dry next to the presentation of using a dangerous heating contraption to keep the soup hot. I say this because it has a burner and if someone is clumsy or if you have children dining in here and accidentally touch or knock it off it can case a hazardous fire or lawsuit. The main dishes which we both ordered was not that impressive. The pad prik felt like eating taco bell ground beef with no zest to it. I’ve tasted better pad prik at other Thai restaurants in Chicago, suburbs and in Thailand. My friends seafood lard nar was watery than creamy and had a really funky seafood smell. He even had to order Thai rice to fill his dish to satisfy. We ordered a banana egg roll with honey for dessert and also was ok but no big deal or excitement. All in all they need to improve as both of us was not impressed and neither was I compared to Thai Oscar.
