Very peaceful overnight stop, we were alone. Unfortunately, the tavern is for sale and looks to be trying to “wind down” business. No more food service, open only Fri-Sat nights, and currently of 18 different beer taps 11 were “out”. Judging by the back yard area, this place looks to have been a happening spot in its heyday.

Wonderful little place in between Cimarron and Raton. Nice pool table and outdoor seating area with a stage. Owner is very friendly and a very light atmosphere. The food is good for such a small menu. The green chilies burger was good.

I stopped here on a whim because I was in the hills all day exploring and badly needed something to drink. I’m glad I did. The owners are SOOO friendly and talkative. We chatted about the areas history, they showed me the place (it wasn’t busy) Anna died me some old photos of the Ghost towns: Colfax & Duncan.
They have a decent beer selection, so I solidly appreciated having something that wasn’t Coors, Bud or another watery version.
I’ll DEFINITELY be back.

Sightly of the beaten path (a good thing) is a gem of a place affectionately called Cold Beer, NM.
Food is great, huge selection of cold beer and the service is awesome. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
The outdoor patio looks awesome, we will be back to check it out in the summer.
100% worth the detour off I-25

Great country bar. They don’t always have time to serve a Scout crew but they served us. Great pizza and cold root beer! Thanks y’all! The chili’s and pepperoni were awesome

Great, beautiful place. Love the building outside dance it was pretty awesome. Freedom to move around the building. Cooks are so wonderful, awesome. Friendly. Best pizza I ever tried. It’s like the New York pizza. That’s how they make it, but now the bartenders They have disgusting ugly attitudes. Can’t stand the bartenders in there. Whenever I stopped, they need new tenders without disgusting, horrible attitudes or giving people dirty looks and all they did was just stand there in the corner, playing on their phones. Or waiting for a tip out. That’s not a way to run a bar. They need new tenders.

Back when my husband was my boyfriend. We used to come here on dates. Fast forward 24 years we went to eat a pizza. Just like we used to do. However, they were out of pizza and we’re like oh well. So we left. It was sad. They said they didn’t have enough staff to make pizza but they were still making burgers, chicken strips and mixed drinks.

Great hidden gem! We had 3 large dogs and were able to sit in a shaded area on the patio. They were very accommodating! Will visit again.
