“The Dive” restaurant is named for the creative sculptures located on the pylons by the Inns riverfront lawn. Historic St. Clair Inn offers this vintage restaurant right on the St Claire River on the State of Michigan’s side. Excellent views from every table and a most very desirable fireplace table. Staff is friendly and helpful with dinner choices and food allergies. Sarah and Amber were especially helpful. Kitchen is good but slow. Fully stocked bar with local beer, cider, wine, and mixed drinks. The 8 oz. Filet is the best item on the menu. Make it a point look around this historical location. Also, well behaved pet are welcome in the restaurant as well as service animals, too.

Highly recommend! Delicious, handcrafted meal with “pepperoni soup” of the day! Who would have thought! Hearty, tangy and original – I’d order it again. My main course was a lightly breaded chicken sandwich with flavorful pesto and a side of sweet potato fries. The view is spectacular and it’s my first choice to dine at when in St. Clair, Michigan. Staff is always attentive and kind!

We really enjoyed popping in here for a few drinks and appetizers. The service was great and the food came out quickly. Everything was delicious. Loved the brussel sprouts! Renee and Brent took really good care of us; they were personable, kept our waters full and checked on us often! They had a good selection of beer on draft, especially if you’re from out of town and like to try new to you or local flavors. We will definitely come back next time we’re in town!

Stayed at the st clair inn for a work trip. Quaint and cozy room with a river view. Downside, no desk in the room or business center for doing a bit of work before dinner. Had dinner at The Dive, Chuck was a great bartender, engaged quite a bit on the history of the area and ship movement on the river, a nice touch of service. The sesame tuna and perch he recommended were fantastic. Had a local playing live music, not too loud and added a nice slow groove to dinner.

Our first visit here was amazing. Brent was our bartender and made phenomenal cocktails, great service! Unfortunately, on our second visit the waitress for our table was weirdly unprofessional and made this an awkward experience to put it nicely. The food and drinks didn’t match what we had experienced before either. I’m sure we’ll give it another try at some point but this visit did not leave a good impression. Lots of staff training is needed here.

Came on Sunday with a girlfriend for brunch & yap. We grabbed seats at the bar because it was busy but the staff and kitchen were keeping up! Food & service were great. The views of the water and freighters passing by from the bar and tables are so pretty. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Went for the 1st breakfast buffet. Our server was the sweetest. Its a beautiful spot on the river. The food was delicious and there was a good selection. They did run out of gravy for the biscuits. It was very busy. They definitely need more room and wait staff to accommodate more people because its definitely somewhere you would want to return.

The restaurant itself is very nice with a beautiful view of the St Clair River but the bartender was very loud behind the bar disrupting the atmosphere. Now for the food. The salad was nice but served without dressing. We told the server and she said it was on there. Nope had to ask a second time for dressing. The perch was lukewarm at best and the rice pilaf was undercooked and crunchy. Probably one of the worst meals we have ever had. I will say they did comp our dinner other than the salad. Unfortunately, we can not recommend this restaurant.

Tried this restaurant twice both times our protein was cooked perfectly and warm (not hot) but everything else was ice cold (like right out of the refrigerator COLD) ate our protein sent the sides back just for reheating and received different food back still cool. All tables were sending their food back during both visits and they could not get simple cocktails correct like crown & ginger ale received Jack & 7-up, Jack and water received Jack and coke and DO NOT ORDER an expresso martini tried twice both times it was curdling and separating! We love the view but they need to fix something in the kitchen and better trained bar tenders. We did give it two tries but no more for us!

An Unforgettable Five-Star Experience
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Dive, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful, but what truly set this visit apart was the incredible service.
During my meal, manager Dan noticed an issue with my dish and, without me even having to say a word, he immediately stepped in to fix it. He was attentive and proactive, demonstrating a level of care and professionalism that you rarely see. This is the kind of service that turns a good meal into a great one.
I am so impressed with The Dive and their commitment to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience with amazing food and exceptional service. Thank you, Dan and the whole team, for an unforgettable evening!
