I was excited to try Scoops on the loop, as it appeared to be the old “mom and pop” style restaurant. We stopped for a quick bite, and I was disappointed by the food. Everything was fried, so grease is to be expected, but this was beyond the norm for greasy. Cheesballs were warm at best, and the jalapeño crab bites were the same. We waited for ice cream after our food, only to find that our ticket had been set down and the ice cream forgotten about. There is definitely room for improvement.

Ordered food for 4 people and spend $55 which included the tip.
2 breaded tenderloins, walking taco, jalapeño crab poppers, fries, bottle of water and three fountain rootbeers.
Wished they had kid sized portions. I wasn’t wanting to spend almost $10 on a chicken strip/fries meal for my toddler to waste so I just got them fries.
Staff was friendly and the food was hot.

Super disappointing to even write this because I really want another great ice cream place in town. The building is cute and fun with some great tasting ice cream. We’ve spent a lot of money at this place as regular customers since it opened. Our last visit consisted of approximately $30 on ice cream. The first item (banana split) was given to us and about 30 minutes later we received the remaining three medium hurricanes. Two of the hurricanes were not what we ordered. I think the kid who took the order entered it wrong? Simple mistake but we were told that’s what we ordered. We don’t even order the flavor they brought us so there’s no way we would have ordered it but not worth arguing over. By this time the banana split was completely liquid. I notified the manager via fb messenger after this large disappointment thinking she might want to know what occured to followup or as a teaching moment for employees. Apparently this platform is more effective with feedback as I see replies from the business which is better than the silence the manager gave me. A simple apology for the errors goes a long ways. Nothing else required. That clearly tells this customer that the business doesn’t care. It’s sad because we tried so many times to support this place despite people talking poorly of it. I guess I learned why they were talking poorly. I wish I would have taken a photo of that banana split but hindsight is always 20/20 I guess.

I miss this place when it was Chux the ice cream use to have a real good flavor to it now just your ordinary basic vanilla, burgers use to have a great seasoning as well as the fries.

The best chili cheese fry’s I’ve ever had!!! Service is pretty good but chili cheese fry’s are amazing. The shakes are good but the chili cheese frys are amazing! The tables are ok but the chili cheese fry’s are amazing!!! Overall the chili cheese are amazing!!!

I just recently moved to Chariton and have had this place twice haven’t tried the ice cream yet! But I do enjoy the food and the service is always nice!
