My wife and I visited on a Friday evening. The parking directly in front of the restaurant was packed, so we had to park further away. It wasn’t a long walk to the restaurant, though.
After walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly young man who seated us rather quickly. As we looked around, there were very few tables available. The noise level was a little loud, but not too loud where my wife and I couldn’t hear ourselves speaking.
There seemed to be just 3 waitresses working the entire restaurant because there were only 3 waitresses that were going back and forth from the kitchen. Our waitress brought us some chips and warm salsa, then took our drink order. We received those relatively quickly.
Although we took a bit of time reviewing the menu, we weren’t checked on until my wife and I closed our menus. We had a few questions, which were answered quite well, but the answers we received made us think more about our choices.
We had to close our menus again before our waitress returned, but after she returned, we placed our orders.
I ordered the El Tejano, and my wife ordered the Don Juan.
Both dishes were excellent!
Also, the guacamole was really great, so I purchased a 4-oz container to bring home and use for our meals.
We really liked the food, our waitress was very nice, and the noise level wasn’t too loud, so we will definitely return.

We came here as a family to celebrate a baptism that we attended. The staff was friendly. Everyone received their food but I received mine after everyone had already finished enjoying theirs. So I didn’t technically eat with them so ended up having to take home. Other than that I would’ve given 5 stars because everything else was perfect.

We were looking for a Mexican food restaurant with better quality than others on 528 and stumbled across Habanero after Sunday church. What a great meal we enjoyed in what is apparently a remodeled restaurant. The chicken breast topped with cheese, shrimp and crawfish (Pollo Del Mar) accompanied by rice and charro beans was scrumptious. You typically can’t go wrong with restaurants that serve warm salsa!
I hope they maintain a good customer base so they can be successful and continue to serve the community.

My daughter and I went there to celebrate Mother’s Day early. When my daughter paid for the meal, it was charged twice. The manager saw it on the screen, but could not verify either transaction with the restaurant. She asked her to return the next day if the second transaction had not reversed. When my daughter returned, the manager and the server seemed to be irritated that my daughter actually returned to question the second charge. They tried to blow her off and it was only after I stepped in, the manager decided to contact someone to find out about the transaction. My daughter has yet to get her money back, but we will continue to follow-up with the restaurant until this issue is resolved. The manager even said that if it is not reversed, she would refund in cash. So, we expect a cash refund before the end of the week. To the owner, it would be helpful to educate your staff on properly dealing with issues like this since technology does not always work. Also, for someone in management, there should be a reasonable level of consideration instead of assuming that my daughter is younger than what she is. If I would not have been present, I know the manager would have blown her off and probably would have done nothing to make any attempt to rectify the situation. Your manager was dismissive and acted as if my daughter was lying. I have no intention of returning to your restaurant unless my daughter’s issue is not resolved in a way that makes things right on her end.

Lately it’s a crapshoot on whether or not your food is edible. I finally called to say something because it was our fav tex-mex spot and we’d gotten a few subpar meals. The meat was super dry and chewy like it was microwaved. My tamale had burnt ends, and the queso was turning brown. When I called, the take-out guy said, “yeah, I noticed it was kind of brown when it came out.” And then kindly told me he’d give us a free queso next time we came in. Gee whiz! thanks Wally.
Two of us eat here once or twice a week and spend at least $30 each time. I expected a little more than a free queso to replace a bad one that should not have made it to my plate, on top of a dry microwaved fajita beef taco that came with a burnt ends tamale. Keep in mind that I didn’t order any bbq.
May have to see if the quality is better at the Friendswood location.

This place had great reviews so I gave it a try, I wasn’t too satisfied. I ordered a beef fajita quesadilla for 13.99 it was a small quesadilla with a dab of guacamole and pico not even enough to eat the entire quesadilla. The quesadilla tasted good just a bit too much cheese. I was pleased that they put chips and salsa in with my order after eating a few chip I found a HAIR stuck to one of my chips that just completely ruined my appetite. I ordered a horchata as well and it was different than what I was use to. This one taste more like milk and cinnamon. I was a bit disappointed with the food based on the reviews I had read.

We love Habaneros! It’s our favorite spot in town. Jajayra was a waitress and she was very attentive and polite. She answered our questions and kept checking in on us to make sure our meal was going well. She also patiently talked to my 7 year old and answered all her questions. We know kids have lots of questions!
