Sad because I used to like it here a good bit. Was my first time back in a while and probably my last. I got the buffalo chicken taco and their quesadilla. I had two bites of it as I just couldn’t stomach it, it was so sweet. I figured nbd, I knew it was a different choice. I moved onto my quesadilla—looked so good! Unfortunately, as soon as I picked a piece up, grease was oozing out and I realized how soggy they all were from being stacked. I ate what I could since I was hungry, but it ended up making me feel sick. My friend got a fish taco, which she usually enjoys, and also disliked it. Not sure what’s going on here. I agree the robot is distracting, interesting idea but you might as well go back to the counter ordering. Our waitress was also very unfriendly, truly sad about this experience. We both agreed we wouldn’t be back especially not for $30 each for food we did not enjoy at all. Best part was eating some guac.

I’m still thinking about the meal I had here a couple weeks ago (I’m not even lying, it was sooooooooooooo good). The staff was super friendly, helpful & attentive! The food came out fresh, hot & delicious. Tako Torta is absolutely on my list of my top favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh + I can’t wait to recommend it to every single person I know!!! 10/10 🙂

We had an event at Bakery Square and were running late, but stopped in to see if we could grab something quick to eat. To my surprise they were able to get us food and drinks in a flash and had us on our way quicker than I could have hoped, the tako taco is still one of my favorites, chips were fresh, queso was really tasty and had just a hint of spice that made it that much better. My go to drink is a jalapeno margarita, and I was able to tear through one before we had to dash to our next stop. We will definitely be back when we can spend more time, I can’t wait to visit in the summer time.

It’s good, fish taco was great. The Tako was a little hard to eat, maybe smaller octopus pieces or segmented. Pricey but very fresh. Esquites had good flavor, but on the menu says “off the cob” yet it was served on the cob. No big, more traditional, would’ve liked the cilantro garnish to be picked off the stems to make the garnish more functional without having the customer do the work. Nonetheless it was tasty. Queso dip was a hit, had almost like a beer cheese flavor and consistency.

We had the most wonderful time here. It felt like an art museum! The food and drinks were delicious and it was mostly self-service which was also great! There were so many unique and beautiful places within the restaurant. Highly recommend!

I can’t find anything bad to say about my lunch experience at tako torta in Bakery Square. The vibe is relaxing and made me in a good mood. We went on a Wednesday around noon and it was pretty mush empty.
You seat yourself and use the QR code on the table to look up the menu, you order at the desk near the kitchen and then go get the food from a box shelf. They will send you a text with the number of the box your food is in. Cutlery, glasses, and napkins are recyclable and you have to get your own water (still or sparking).
The girl taking the orders was very nice and approachable and explained how it worked clearly.
We ordered a custom grain bowl and the fish taco (grilled fish for me but it comes fried in beer batter as default). They prepared them in 10 minutes sharp. My companion said that the bowl was tasty and abundant even if it didn’t look like and my fish tacos were tasty, delicate, and satisfying. Even if they use plastic plates they really look trendy and don’t feel cheap at all.
I’m obsessed with the back room with the hanging flowers but in general it’s obvious that they took care of all the details. Even the bathroom was elegant but quirky!
I will definitely go back for dinner to try one or five of their cocktails!
I recommend it for a casual lunch or dinner and if you are in a rush but want to eat healthy. I’m not sure if I would go on a first date here since I didn’t see many 2 seats tables and everything is very bright (but maybe in the evening they dim down the lights?) but the food is *chef’s kiss* and that’s a way too impress too!

I ordered a breakfast burrito during brunch hours and I honestly didn’t think it was possible to ruin a burrito, but it was awful. The exterior was (I think) coated with cheese but it was so burnt it could not be cut with a knife or bitten through. The potatoes inside the burrito were burned so badly they also couldn’t be cut. After some extensive deconstruction, the remaining filling was edible but retained the burned flavor even after removing the potatoes and burned exterior. We also ordered flour tortillas and street corn which were both really great. This was a takeout order and the staff I encountered were very friendly. But that burrito, wow, so bad.

Dating in Pittsburgh LLC hosted an event at Tako Torta on Thursday, August 8th, and we must say, it was an incredible experience!
With over 125 singles in attendance, the vibes and ambiance were absolutely perfect for mingling and meeting new people. The delicious food and refreshing margaritas definitely added to the experience!

Cool atmosphere with a nice outdoor and indoor space. Service at the bar was nice. It isn’t full service. After we ordered at the bar, we picked up the food at the pickup window. The menu is all online, which I don’t mind, actually prefer. The food was good, and we were full, but the price was a bit of a shock for not having full service. We ended up spending around 70 dollars for 2 drinks, an app, and two entrees. Overall, we liked the place and would rate it higher if it wasn’t so pricey. Might try to check out their happy hour sometime.
