Almost a hidden Gem!!
So glad I came here…

New Taste of India Sweets & Restaurant totally hit the spot! I ordered the butter chicken

(SO good—rich, flavorful, and not shy on spice),

pakori (crispy, light, and perfect for dipping),

and they even gave me a free traditional dessert to try—bright yellow, sweet, and fun. I still don’t know what it was called, but it felt like edible sunshine.

The staff were super friendly, generous, and made the experience feel like a home-cooked meal. It’s tucked into a humble little strip mall, but the food and kindness are five-star all the way. Highly recommend if you’re craving real Indian comfort food and a sugar hug at the end!

I was randomly in Edmonton for one night and I thought I’d try this Indian spot

By God was an impressed. I ordered the puri chole and aloo mattar – Vegetarian dishes.

They tasted better than the best meat dishes I’ve ever had in Calgary at an Indian restaurant.

And I was asked what I wanted for my spice level and I told them not to hold back and they did not hold back lol it was so spicy but extremely tasty exactly what I asked for.

I think they even gave me extra naan bread.
And I got a free sweet to try a chocolate barfi

I paid less than $30 for food that could’ve fed a family of six!!!!

When an Indian restaurant can make a vegetarian dish, taste better Than a meat dish then you know you are in good hands!!

Can’t wait to come back to Edmonton and try the rest of their menu!!

And the service was amazing!! And the quality of the food Was beyond fresh!!!!

I was very impressed!! That rarely happens!!

Today I ordered gobi pakoda and boondi laddu from them, but they sent me a completely different order. After waiting for half an hour, I received samosa and poori chole instead. I even have a gluten allergy, so i was not not able to eat these things. They totally ruined my mood.

This place is inside a shopping area with ample parking space. There are many other businesses in the same area. The restaurant is small but clean. When I visited it was quite. The waitress was pleasant. The food was okay. The price was moderate. The cuisine was North Indian . The quantity and quality of the meal was good for the price. They have a bigger restaurant at Medows south Edmonton near Corpus Christi Church inside Palika bazaar shopping complex.

I comment before too but deleted as their food was better before but recently last time when called staff just refused to request as request was only not to put any onions on top and hang call, today order was chat as offcourse more than anything there was onions and tamatoes which i never experienced anywhere like quantity half and half, other eas bread pakoda which is size of paneer pakoda and hard rock, burned and no filling. Just posting picture because dont know how this happened, someone actually made that and fry and packaged nobody noticed? Had to throw whole thing except lassi but if you want to try this restaurant just dine, atleast you can point out if something wrong its just waste of money and time. Added picture too

We wanted to dine in, but the staff told us that dine-in prices are higher than the prices shown on the menu. When we asked why, they said the difference is for “service.” This was confusing and disappointing since the menu didn’t mention any price difference for dining in. Prices should be transparent and clearly stated so customers know what to expect before ordering.

If you want to order here please ask for extra charges because they don’t think to tell about extra charges same amount bill with same amount extra charges.

If you ask they said don’t have option to charge with item name
Also you not get any napkins, disposable spoons or plates

Please think before going to this store

We choose to go there over next door sushi and shawarma place thinking this will be a great Indian cuisine experience but it happened to be worst decision. They took 20 minutes plus to make order. Food was pathetic no taste and not fresh. We couldn’t eat and had to dine in somewhere else. The girl at the front was very arrogant and rough. AVOID
