Mug-n-Bun is a cool old-fashioned drive in where you never have to leave your car. If your lights are on they’ll come out to take your order, and then they’ll bring you the food too. It’s quite nice for a change. I just got a tenderloin sandwich with some of their house-made root beer. The root beer was slightly different that what I’m used to, but was delicious; it might’ve had slightly more of a vanilla note. The sandwich was equally satisfying and filling. It must be even better in the summertime. I’d definitely suggest giving it a try.

Mug n bun is a staple in the west side come get you some if you never been here definitely worth the stop they have drive-in service outside seating service and then another building they have dine in service. I got the mug and bun special and a pizza burger both were good and the homemade root beer I wish I would’ve got a bigger size

Such a fun little spot! The food is classic drive-in goodness—tasty, filling, and just what you’re craving. Hands down the BEST onion rings ever, crispy and full of flavor. The vintage vibe makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time in the best way. Plus, the staff is super friendly and on top of things. Great food, cool atmosphere, and quality service—what more could you ask for?

Expected more out of this place after seeing it on Man v Food. I ordered a breaded tenderloin, onion rings and a root beer. the root beer was by far the best part of the meal. Tenderloin had a really bizarre flavor that’s hard to describe. very gamy, and kinda smelled like literal poop. very off-putting. onion rings were good for the first couple bites, then when they cooled off they got really tough and chewy. like they had been sitting for a while and were re-dunked in the fryer before serving them to me. Ordering is strange as well. they make you pay before you even get your food (i guess to prevent dine and dash) but tipping is cash only (or Venmo/Cash App). Tipping is very aggressive as well, with stickers inside the billfold demanding you “be generous/be nice”. I built this place up in my head and drove 3 hours to experience it but it was overall a huge disappointment.

I’m from out of town and this place was recommended by a local. He also suggested the pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings. I was not disappointed. The sandwich was fresh (not frozen) and was tender and flavorful. However, the star of the show were the onion rings. A light and crispy beer batter and thick cut fresh onion, again not frozen. They were so good that they changed my perception of the universe.

The ordering was different than I was used to but the staff was really helpful and didn’t make me feel dumb for asking for help.

The only thing holding back 5 stars for the food is that they hit the salt pretty heavily on the sandwich.

Great little drive in. Food was delicious. Servers go out of their way. Food orders got mixed up with the vehicle next to us, the only down side. Root beer was some of the best I’ve ever had. Should have gotten a half gallon or gallon before I left the city. Definitely eat here again

My dad used to come here when he worked in the area and recommended it to me so while I was in town I thought I would give it a try. I pulled up to the drive-in area and was immediately waited on. I got a cheeseburger and fries and had the root beer recommended to me as well. All of it was priced well and came out in a very reasonable amount of time. The burger was delicious and the fries perfectly cooked. The root beer was fantastic as well and is definitely worth getting as a little treat. The waitress was friendly and made sure that I was well taken care of. There is a small building next to the drive-in that has dine in service, and the drive-in has picnic tables as well if you don’t want to sit in your car but still want to be outside. What a fun stop this was, and I will definitely be back in the future.

Classic drive in with friendly service. Fries and rootbeer were great but I’d try a burger over tenderloin next time. Huge portions and reasonable prices.

Solid food and reasonable prices, the service was awesome and the root beer was worth it, the mug n bun special was good but instead of toast I’ll be 100% going for the bun instead, I’ll be back for a burger and root beer any day, the onion rings are worth the hype also.
