Wow this place levels up El Sobrante! Beautiful spacious café, giftshop, gallery wall, books for sale and for kids to read while at the café, coloring table, and nice wood accents. Super excited to finally have a great spot to meet up with friends in El Sobrante, instead of having to trek all the way to Berkeley. I had a matcha strawberry latté

Next door there’s Planting Justice Farm Store- full of books and gifts, and a huge nursery with interactive outdoor museum-like installations. And also the Triangleworks Shed – an artists’ makerspace hosting classes and selling handmade gifts/art. Excellent area to spend the day, and connect with local community.

This collective is everything that performative, faux-activist cafe/art spaces in Berkeley and Oakland are not: Super genuine, deeply collaborative, connected to community and organized social justice movements and praxis in membership/staffing, embracing of our unhoused neighbors, warm, welcoming, and lovingly-maintained. Additionally, you can get a good cup of coffee and a snack here for a truly reasonable price. I’m looking forward to them expanding their menu!

Lovely remade space with sexy salads, delicious coffee and tea. My salad was beet, golden beet, walnut, goat cheese, orange slices and assorted greens with a lemony vinaigrette. I tried the Ascura? Tea from Costa Rica. Earthy and delicate. My husband has the drip coffee. After the first sip he said yum! That’s unusual for him.
The space is light, bright and spacious.
Pay them a visit, this could be your new regular spot!

Great community spot! It’s totally a vibe. A miraculous collaboration that took years to bear fruit between a Berkeley congregation and Planting Justice this spot is teeming with energy.

It’s also the best espresso in the area—-by a lot. Prices are from 10 years ago and without a doubt do yourself a favor and get the apple walnut cake—-not too sweet but damn good. The soup of the day has been solid and their food program is growing. Super kid friendly.

There is also a beautiful nursery, farm store featuring local—-all kinds of artisan crafty things and a pie and dessert stand outside. Naturally there are DJs on Sunday too.

It’s good!

Beautiful space, wonderful addition to the community. Big fan of the grab and go section. However, I’ve visited over 5 times, and each time I found the drinks to be lackluster with much room for improvement. In my experience, the iced drinks are served with mostly melted ice and not enough ice. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve had to ask for an additional cup of ice to chill my beverage. I respect the vision and mission, and would love to see them invest in barista training.

I went into the shop and found so many unique ideas to add to my classroom in LA. I loved the atmosphere, very professional yet so wonderful that the little ones were able to touch and sit and read the books. The cafe was full with joyful families and I especially loved the group of women, sipping tea, chatting and crocheting. They were enjoying every minute as was I. I highly recommend! Go see for yourself. It will not disappoint!

Great cafe and nursery. I had a large capuchino (less than $5 and no tip request when using a card, ) The atmosphere in the cafe is relaxed, and homey. Books to read and return. Children welcome. I browsed the nursery and thought the prices were really good. I really like the place, I’ll be back.

What a lovely place and wonderful concept.
Great people working in the cafe and outside.
So nice to sit out in the sun with coffees and a pastry.
Limited but healthy food options – wrapped sandwiches and some salads from EC Natural.
Bonus – great cards to color with beautiful colored pencils.
