The staff never seem to enjoy working at this place though once, right before closing, I had a nice conversation with the owner’s sister.
I always get the Tamashii Men, which is their shrimp broth ramen with Shrimp skewers. It’s always an enjoyable meal though I finish it pretty quickly. Sometimes I can be in and out in about 20 minutes, which is nice.
The interior decor is cute and anime inspired. Overall I’ll definitely come back, especially with their stamp rewards card! I’ll be trying the tonkatsu next time:)
Now, the important part: the food and the experience. Tamashi’s Tamashi Mein has been a go-to dish of mine for years, and my kids absolutely love it. The One Piece anime-themed décor inside is a huge hit with them. Even though none of us have watched the show, we’re big anime fans, and the whole setup is just fun to be around.
Service here is generally very good. There’s a younger waitress we’ve had many times, and she is fantastic — truly one of the reasons we kept coming back so often. I’m planning to get her name the next time we visit so I can update this review, because she deserves the recognition.
There was one visit where we had a group of five and learned (the hard way) that Tamashi automatically adds a 20% gratuity for parties over four. Most restaurants don’t start doing that until six, seven, or eight people, so it caught me off guard. We also had a different waitress that day, and the service wasn’t great — so between that and the unexpected gratuity, it left a bad taste and we stopped going for a while. I do think it would help if they mentioned the policy up front so guests know.
That said, the food has always been solid, the flavors are good, the ramen is unique compared to other spots I frequent, and the overall experience — especially with our favorite waitress — has kept Tamashi on our list. My kids still love it, and we’ve slowly started going back because at the end of the day, it is a great place with great food.
Still a recommended spot, especially for anime fans and ramen lovers.
I went with the shrimp ramen that comes with a shrimp based broth and a skewer of shrimp. It was so rich, savory, and comforting. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the flavor of the broth really stood out.
The vibe in the restaurant is really cool too. They’ve got some awesome artwork on the walls that gives the place a creative, chill feel. It’s a relaxed spot with a stylish edge, great for a date night.
They also have a stamp system. They gave me a card with 2 stamps for that night.(I spent around $30.00) Every $15 you spend gets you 1 stamps and once you have a total of 10 stamps you can get and one item from the menu for free
Service was friendly, the food came out fast. I’ll definitely be coming back
