It’s great that they offer vegan and GF menu choices.
There’s a cute shopping area in the front and an extensive list of tea to choose from. We do decaf so that list was smaller and we were able to make a decision quickly.
All staff were friendly and accomodating.
We had a tea that you can order daily which included the tea, half of a sandwich, scone with clotted cream & jam, chocolate truffle, and a macaron.
It was all delicious! We will be back!
Unique, creative menu and delicious lunch + wonderful ambience. My friends and I had such a great time. The service was wonderful and the tea timer gave the perfect brew :).
Also: literally the best scones I have ever had in my entire life, you can really tell how much expertise + years of experience goes into every dish and baked good.
The rules are not for everyone, but understandable as a small business that has such a wonderful, expansive menu.
The shop is also brimming with lovely products: cool totes, cards, books, tea accessories, chocolate, cookies, confections, robes, blankets, a fun refill pharmacy, and the best selection of non-alcoholic beverages in Princeton – just a really perfect selection for finding gifts for anybody, especially yourself!
The food is truly exceptional. Every bite feels intentional and beautifully prepared, from the delicate tea sandwiches to the freshly baked scones and pastries that are as delicious as they are lovely to look at. The tea selection is impressive and carefully curated, making it easy to discover something new or indulge in a favorite done perfectly.
What truly elevates Tipple & Rose, though, are the hosts. They are hands-down some of the best you’ll encounter anywhere — warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience for every guest. You don’t just feel served; you feel welcomed.
Tipple & Rose isn’t just a place to eat or drink tea — it’s an experience, and one that keeps you wanting to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something truly special in Princeton.
The Royal Rose Garden (number 4 on their tea ordering list) is the best tea ever made. That tea has raised my standards for tea a hundredfold. I live in Pennsylvania, but everything I’m in New Jersey, without fail, I stop here to get more tea. It is genuinely the best tea I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of tea.
TLDR: Everything about this place is perfect; buy the Royal Rose Garden tea.
The service is not friendly at all, and they make it complicated. Felt like I was getting my blood work down at the hospital while I was asking for a simple cup of tea.
We had two cups of tea of which both were absolutely horrible. Probably the worst tea I have ever had in my life. We tried a scone and that was even worse than the tea. I don’t know how you can make a scone taste bad. I walked around for 2 hours sad and depressed after entering this place lol. Also the main lady had some weird voodoo vibes. It wasn’t just me, my whole family felt the same exact way. Honestly this place doesn’t even deserve 1 star.
The service is attentive and friendly.
My absolute recommendation to fill your tummy and heart.
