Spicy bulgogi was delicious!! Super attentive service!!
I came with the in laws and they would just not stop talking about my husband’s brother who I really don’t think is all that. He’s nice enough and seems to do well at his firm but I couldn’t bring myself to just keep talking about him.

I have been a vegetarian for over 8 years by now and I like finding restaurants showcasing different foods from around the world. House of Milae is one of my favorite restaurants in Bethesda and I love the mix of korean dishes and meals. I really appreciate the staff showing me which recipes on the menu were vegetarian friendly since I am a vegetarian. My favorite ones are the vegetarian kimbap , soju , kibimbap with eggs and vegetables , scallion pancakes , and the starter samples of the mashed potatoes and the kimchi. Gamsahabnida for providing excellent service !

House of Milae is a local gem serving quality authentic Korean cuisine. Working my way through their menu, I’ve found every dish to be well-seasoned and comforting. I regularly order beef gimbap, which always hits the spot. The kimchi fried rice is brilliant. The kimchi jigae and tteokguk stews are perfect as hearty meals on cold nights. For an absolute treat, order some beef galbi or pork belly which are served on a cast iron hot plate. Bring a friend or two, grab a booth, and pair your meal with a bottle of soju or a bowl of makgeolli. Last but not least, the owner is exceptionally friendly – his genuineness and sense of humor complete the experience. Highly recommended: please come out to support this local business, serving some of the best food in the neighborhood.

I eat a LOT of Korean food so when I say this is some of the best I’ve had, I have a frame of reference!
We went on a weeknight and things were quiet. I liked that kpop was playing but not too loud and our server (I think it was Lily!) was super sweet and attentive. I think the service was better than the food, and the food was really really good.
I loved that we got a tray of all of the sides! I feel like a lot of places don’t do that anymore. All of the sides were good, I especially liked the potato salad and the pickled radish.
We tried the meat steamed dumplings and they were good! I liked the dipping sauce and they had a great flavor.
After that we got two of the bibimbop bowls! We got the crispy “dolsot” ones. They came out so hot and still sizzling! I had the beef, and it was a well marinated bulgolgi. I loved how crispy the rice got, and the toppings went well with the rice and beef. The sauces were really good and I put a ton of the spicy gochujang sauce on mine, it really made it. I liked that you could specify how your egg was cooked too. Everything tasted amazing and it was just the thing for a cold night.
I got a scallion pancake to go for lunch the next day, and it came with all of the sides again! I was so happy to see more of that potato salad. The pancakes aren’t flaky layered ones, but crispy flour ones. The dipping sauce they came with was nice. It was a great portion for lunch.
I cannot wait to come back and try the pork belly in a bibimbop bowl! This is definitely my new favorite place in Bethesda.

I ordered delivery through their preferred app. I received no email or text with an estimated delivery time. When I tried to call the restaurant after an hour of waiting, nobody answered the phone. When I finally got my food, it was cold, and I received no rice and broccoli with my Bulgogi in which it specifically says you get steamed rice and broccoli with the meal. When I called the restaurant to complain, they only offered half off the Kimbap ($9) rather than the Bulgogi ($23). Maybe the food is good at the restaurant, but DEFINITELY avoid ordering delivery from this restaurant.

A little hidden gem in Bethesda. I have been here twice now and both times the service was great. The server was very attentive and patient with all requests. The reason I took off a star is for price and both times I was there something from our order was forgotten but given the service and taste of food it was not a big deal. In my most recent visit I got the seafood pancake, beef bibimbop, and the beef soft tofu stew. The beef bibimbop was delicious and came with a good amount of beef surprisingly. The seafood pancake came out as 3 little pancakes and it was a bit more doughy in the middle than I would have preferred (reminds me of the texture of mashed potatoes) but it still tasted nice with the dipping sauce. The beef soft stew was not overly salty which was great and had a good amount of tofu in it. It was also just the right amount of spicy. The plate of small side dishes is always something to look forward to as well! Overall, I would 100% recommend and I will definitely be back. However, I would like to note that the two times I was there the food did take a little bit to come out.

First time trying rice wine. Very delicious! Their short ribs were also very good! I took one star off because they have no dessert at all.

I can never go back to Chinese takeout again. The Korean food was very authentic and delicious. I had gotten takeout from this place before and this was the first time I ate in. Takeout was really good, but eating it fresh was amazing. The place gets crowded during lunch, so if you have a large party like we did, I recommend getting there right before noon. We were able to snag the one large round table in the back. Some people in our group were new to Korean food, some did not like spicy, and some liked lots of heat. All of our preferences were accommodated. I recommend the seafood pancake, which was gobbled up so fast that I couldn’t get a picture, and the bibimbap with crunchy rice.

Spot – cozy. Wait staff – awesome and attentive. Manager – one of the best people I’ve met in my career. Kitchen – absolutely on point. This is hands down one of the last few old gems of downtown Bethesda and there aren’t many left!

Great service, very comforting. Seafood pancakes were good, might need to add some seafood freshness to make it more tasty. But the tofu soup was not flavored enough while it’s good coming in the iron pot.
