Reviews
We had the pork belly bahn mi and the chicken katau bahn mi and fries. The fries are fine and were hit and crispy. The sandwiches were OK. They could have been good, but they were underwhelmingly dressed and don’t look like the photos on the website unfortunately.
When we arrived, we had to interact with a machine, and no one greeted us. The soda machines didn’t work. An employee came out from behind to fix it and was somewhat successful, but the machines were a little off, and the employee did not care at all.
The restaurant and restroom were FILTHY. No one cared at all. It wasn’t busy at all, but there were unbussed tables, dirty tables, and trash filled restrooms.
I don’t normally slam places, but Bahn Mi Boys needs a wake up call. The idea is too good to not carry it through. I hope things improve.
I’m honestly surprised at some of the reviews, but noticing a theme that most of the bad reviews were ordered via a delivery service. Dining in, the experience is great.
Ordered and received our meal extremely quick. Everything was served hot and fresh. The chicken katsu banh mi is phenomenal. The spring rolls and vermicelli are also great.
If you’re going to review a spot, do the restaurant a favor and dine in. You won’t regret it here.
Chicken Wings were juicy and flavorful, cooked nicely and good presentation for a delivery order. Fries were flavored well.
The sandwich just killed the meal. Definitely skip.
Banh Mi Boys is tucked into a charming, gentrified neighborhood and definitely scores points for aesthetics—it’s a cute, cool spot that draws you in with its trendy vibe. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting.
Let’s start with the egg rolls. It’s hard to ignore the overwhelming taste of freezer burn, which lingered far too long after the bite. The spring rolls were fresher, but the meat inside was overly salty, which threw off the balance you’d typically expect in a roll.
The Thai tea was another letdown. It had the color and the sweetness, but almost no tea flavor—more like vaguely tea-flavored milk.
As for the grilled pork noodle salad—well, it was missing the noodles, which was a surprise (and not the good kind). The cucumber had a bitter edge, likely from the unpeeled skin, and the pork was both dry and aggressively salty, which overpowered everything else on the plate.
Overall, while the space was inviting and the concept is promising, the execution really needs work. There’s potential here, but the flavors and freshness just weren’t there.
