Food was delicious, but the seating situation was a little odd. There were booths available but I was seated at the bar, where there’s not much room or space between the preparation station and the customer. Seemed like an ideal place to hang out with friends, but I was from out of town and by myself.

Sitting here having just finished 3 tacos feeling the urgent need to leave a review. Each one was phenomenal, both in flavor profile and quality/freshness of ingredients (particularly the meats), a refreshing relief for the price point. Check this place out – I’m thoroughly impressed!

We recently moved to VA from Texas so finding good BBQ has been a challenge but the search is over. We were incredibly impressed with everything we got. We had moist brisket, sausage, rice and beans, plantains and cream. The brisket was mouthwatering and tender and all the sides were great. The guy who took care of us was super nice too! Can’t wait to come back!!

An early Sunday dinner for three found tables easy to come by, the games open, and the staff helpful and attentive. Five tacos, a platter and a quesadilla, with two cocktails and tip came to just over $100. Two of our three diners reported mediocre flavors and excess grease. One reported an enjoyable mix of smoky barbecue and tex-mex flavors.
Part of the “HiFi” schtick is the music vibe, which in this case was an hour’s worth of Linkin Park and System of a Down. Unlike other places, where you endure a bad song or two in an otherwise mixed playlist, here they say they stick to vinyl, meaning if you don’t like the music, buckle up because you’re getting 5-7 bad tracks in a row, before they switch over to another, closely related artist in a *very* particular genre. It shows a real commitment by the management to their musical tastes, and tells the world how impressively little they care about a broad customer appeal.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t too loud, but unfortunately it is too loud, and the food and cocktails just aren’t good enough to overcome a vibe that’s clearly meant for someone else.
It’s the same theory of operation as Taco Bamba down the road: play loud rock to set a mood and keep tables turning over. But at Taco Bamba, the food and drink make you want to endure the playlist.
Die-hard Linkin Park fans will be in high cotton here. All others think twice.
Edit: Added a star for the manager’s pro-level reply. Will be back to giver another shot.

A new bbq joint in mosaic with a fun twist on some classics. The orange soda carnitas was juicy and tender. Smoked wings were excellent, and all the pickled vegetables and salsas served with the meats help cut through the fatiness. Will be coming back!

Beautiful. Phenomenal. I had the juiciest, most flavorful pulled pork in the DMV area (that I’ve had so far). Its been a mission of mine to find the best BBQ, and meat quality is high on the list. The vibes were fantastic with rockin’ music, fantastic servers, and knowledgeable cooks. Its not a typical bbq spot, so know that, but I got pulled pork and plantains at the same time. So that rocks

This restaurant was recently mentioned in Arlington Magazine’s Bargain Bites edition so we decided to check it out tonight! We love bbq and Mexican food so it sounds perfect! When we walked in, we were greeted by a gentleman behind the counter. We sat down at the last remaining booth and decided on our entrees. Hubby ordered the pulled pork platter (1/4 lb.) and two Night In America tacos at the counter. They didn’t have iced tea (bummer!) so we just drank water.
The pulled pork platter came with rice and beans, all of which were delicious. However, the best part of dinner was the tacos. I liked dinner more than hubby but I didn’t care as much for the atmosphere. It has a dive bar feeling, with not enough seating. By the time we left, there wasn’t any seating left. It’s a popular place that seems to be doing well!

Very cool looking spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Came here twice and Sam has been a great bartender and very kind! Recommend the Valentina butter wings and a margarita. I’ll be coming back here when I’m in the area!

I just want to give a huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Zach and Sam at Hi/Fi Tex-Mex BBQ! Their customer service was nothing short of incredible—friendly, fun, and effortlessly smooth from start to finish. It’s rare these days to come across people who not only love what they do but make you feel like family while doing it.
Zach and Sam made everything so easy and enjoyable. Their energy is contagious, their attention to detail is impressive, and they genuinely care about making sure you leave with a smile. They’re the kind of people who turn a good meal into a memorable experience.
If you’re looking for amazing BBQ with that extra touch of hospitality, this is the place and Zach and Sam are the heart of it. Thank you both for making our visit something special. We’ll definitely be back!

I feel a little torn leaving this rating because I believe this location has only been open for a week before I came to visit. Restaurant is connected to B-Side (shared bathrooms) and the atmosphere looks like it could be fun for a night out with friends! Especially if you live in mosaic. My friend and I came here at 2pm on a Saturday and there were only two other parties there at the time. Waitress only brought over one menu, which was fine, but then after about 20 min of looking over the one menu and knowing what we already wanted, she came over and took the menu and replaced it with another one? We thought maybe we had a brunch menu, but it was the exact same menu that she took from me. After about another 15 min we flagged her down so we could order and she had us pay and tip even before the food came out? I was very confused. I’ve never had to do that at a sit-down restaurant before. When the food came out it was good – but just so people are aware when ordering the tacos, it is one individual taco, not a meal. Overall, I left very confused and wasn’t sure if this was the norm for the restaurant. I hope to stop by again at some point and maybe give it another try… but like I said, I’m confused
