We stopped in for the perch fish fry and it was really good! We had it country breaded and it was very tasty! A lot easier than trying to catch a fish! 🙂 We were well treated by Dawn and Tim! Kudos for showing us a good time!

Great place to visit if you’re staying near Pelican Lake or driving through the area. Very much a local spot but the best part is “Sugar”the sweetest all white pit bull mix. Just a precious soul and the best greeter ever. She walked up to every new body that came in and visited the table more than once. And was trained to go sit in the corner when food was on the table. Only allowed to come visit with no food to feed her. She was a sweetheart, everyone in our group would have taken her home in a heartbeat. Can’t wait to see her again…

4 stars down to one. service from the son is the worst, won’t be back. Couldn’t feel less welcome here. Wow. Highly disappointed. Miserable man, turned away a couple at 7pm, after he served us. Would not stop complaining the entire time.
It’s a good stop for some drinks and food on the atv and snowmobile trails. Pretty good bar food, and the long islands are very good. Not much else around the area so it’s a good place to have.

Food was five stars – Burgers were large with a toasted bun. Bloody Mary had four garnishes, one was a meat stick. Burger was served with chips, that was not clear on the menu. $9 for a bacon cheeseburger.
Dog- pit bull mix wanders around the tables. This is a health code violation.
Place was horribly dirty. The entryway had a layer of dead Japanese beetles piled up. Bathroom had a thick layer of dust on the register. An ashtray looked like it hasn’t been cleaned out all summer. I would hate to see what the kitchen looks like.
Miscellaneous tents with chairs around a fire pit outside- just looked backcountry and redneck.
No handicap parking. No gluten free or sourdough options.

First time here. Stopped for lunch. We had the fish fry. The bacon potato pancakes are the bomb. Would skip the fries and get double order of them for sure! It was great. Prices good. Everthhing that came out of the kitchen looked yummy. Tavern that serves food. Small dining room in back. Can eat at bar or tables.

First time up in the north woods and I cannot wait to go back! I had an amazing sweet old fashioned, The Stack sandwich, perfect fried mushrooms, hand cut fries, and a bite of the steak sandwich. Our bartender was on top of everything and the service was timely, efficient, and very polite. Thank you for making our trip north so hospitable!

Ryan and I stopped in for some food. It was Monday afternoon and every place we drove past was closed. We were both excited to see the Boondocks was OPEN. Ryan pulled the truck into the parking lot. We jumped out and headed inside. There she was. Our bartender and cook. She was absolutely amazing. She talked with us. Kept the cold beers coming and cooked up some delicious food. She was such a sweetheart. Thank you so much Boondocks. Ryan and I had a run time at your bar.
