A Neighborhood Gem in Arden Park
If you’re looking for the perfect neighborhood hangout near the intersection of Watt Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard, look no further than Duke’s Plates & Pints. It strikes that rare, perfect balance between a high-energy sports bar and a welcoming family restaurant.
What Makes It Great:
• The Vibe: It has a fantastic “neighborhood living room” feel. Whether you’re sitting inside at the bar or out on the large, dog-friendly patio, the atmosphere is always relaxed and inviting. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers your name and your favorite pour.
• The Beer Selection: For craft beer lovers, Duke’s is a must-visit. They feature 20+ rotating taps, often showcasing local Sacramento and California breweries. If you aren’t sure what to pick, the staff is great at offering recommendations or a quick taster.
• The Food: This isn’t just “basic” pub grub. Their garlic fries are legendary (and highly addictive), and the Macho Nachos are a massive crowd-pleaser for game days. Their burgers are consistently juicy, and they even offer solid vegetarian and gluten-free options, which isn’t always common for a taphouse.
• Game Day & Fun: With plenty of big screens, it’s easily one of the best spots in the area to catch a Kings game or Sunday football. When the weather is nice, the outdoor area often has yard games like cornhole, making it a hit for groups.
Pro-Tip:
If you’re a fan of a good deal, keep an eye on their Happy Hour (typically Monday–Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM). It’s an excellent way to sample their appetizers and craft beers at a great price point.
Bottom Line: Whether you’re stopping by for a quick pint after work or bringing the whole family for dinner, Duke’s is a reliable, high-quality staple of the Arden-Arcade community.

Aubrey and her team make you feel like a regular visitor even if it’s your first time.
They have a great collection of beers on tap and top notch kitchen staff to make your fries “just right”.
The servings are substantial and the quality is excellent. Watch your favorite game while you dine. There is also a patio for your summer time enjoyment.

Love the atmosphere here. Great decor and terrific music. The service was friendly and efficient.
We’ve eaten here a few times and love the burgers and fries. I tried the garlic fries this time, and found them to be a bit too garlicky. We also tried the bot and patty melt, which were both delicious.
The food is always great and there is a great beer menu.

Went here on a recommendation from a neighbor. Zack was awesome. Attentive and so nice. He made my husband’s birthday evening great. His food recommendation was delicious. Neither of us were feeling great after traveling so it was nice to be met with such a great experience. We definitely found a new favorite spot. I’m excited to go back.

If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a wide selection of beers and delicious sandwiches, look no further than Dukes. From the moment you step in the door, you’ll be surrounded by a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing and unwinding with friends.

The star of the show at this restaurant bar is undoubtedly their impressive selection of beers. Whether you’re in the mood for a light and refreshing ale or a rich and complex stout, you’re sure to find something that suits your taste buds here. And if you’re not sure what to try, the knowledgeable and friendly staff are always happy to make recommendations.

Of course, it’s not just about the drinks at this restaurant bar – the food menu is just as impressive. Their sandwiches are a particular standout, with a variety of creative and flavorful options to choose from. My favorite is the bbq pulled pork sandwich.

In addition to the great beer and food, this restaurant bar also offers a comfortable and welcoming ambiance that’s perfect for hanging out with friends or enjoying a casual meal with family. The decor is modern and inviting, with plenty of comfortable seating and a laid-back vibe that’s perfect for relaxing after a long day.

All in all, if you’re a fan of beer and delicious sandwiches, Dukes is definitely worth checking out. With its great selection of drinks, creative menu, and inviting atmosphere, it’s sure to become a go-to spot for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some great food and drinks.

Great place for sandwiches (burgers & others) and a beer, they have about 20 on tap – expensive at $10 a pint. Pretty much only bar seating and high top tables with hard seats. Several TVs to watch, friendly staff.
