During the holiday season my family and I ordered Dashers through doordash. That’s our favorite ice cream from carvel. We’ve ordered their many times with no real issues. Keep in mind how expensive the Dashers are and then on top of it ordering through doordash the price increases there’s a fee and a tip. So for three of us to have ice cream it cost quite a bit.
The last time we ordered, they had special holiday containers for the Dashers that the lids did not fit properly. The doordasher showed up at our house and the ice cream had spilled everywhere inside the plastic bag. He apologized but of course it’s not his fault that Carvel’s containers don’t fit properly. I called Carvel to tell them what had happened and I was told a manager would call me back. 2 weeks went by I called again and was told the same thing, 3 weeks went by and I called again and was told the same thing. Obviously the management there is not concerned about the fact that they took almost $40 of mine for ice cream to be delivered at the bottom of a plastic bag because of faulty containers that they were using. I honestly can’t believe that the manager never called me back. I’ve given him multiple times to make the call and do the right thing and either refund my money or give us the product that we paid for. No call back no concern from them whatsoever. Will not be returning

The servers were nice and friendly day to the kids! The vanilla/chocolate swirl soft serve was to die for and melted in my mouth just like I remembered! I am so glad I found one in Chesapeake where I live now! I also got some pinwheel to go!

When I order shakes through DoorDash from Carvel, they NEVER use a drink holder to deliver so they arrive spilled and half of a $9 shake is floating in the bottom of the paper bag! Ridiculous! Shakes are delicious but customer service and delivery suck! Carvel, put cups in a cardboard holder! I think the price tag justifies an effective delivery!

This is a nice little find since moving to Chesapeake. It’s down on South Battlefield and I have to pass a Dairy Queen to get here, but it’s totally worth it!
When you step inside they definitely have the whole retro thing going on and it works nicely. The counter is over to the left side as you enter and partially along the back. To the right are some coolers full of sodas and in the middle you find old ice cream parlor stools and chairs covered in red with metal banding around them. It’s a nice touch.
On my visit I picked up a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake. I don’t remember the cost but it wasn’t expensive and was oooooooh so delicious. The people working there were very nice and it seems like it’s a family operation.
I noticed on the way out there’s also tables and chairs outside which will be especially nice once once spring and summer get here. I think on my next visit I’ll bring my pup Jango and hook him up with a scoop as well.

We just came to this place, it’s tucked in a corner where we missed it for a while. The place is clean, comfortable, large ice cream selection. We came on Sunday just before noon, and nobody else was here. We had scoop ice creams and they were wonderful. Staff was friendly. We will definitely be coming back 🙂
Edit: I just read a bunch of the other reviews, and so many are basically “place is wonderful!” and then they give 4 stars. I don’t get it

Getting skimpy on their servings so we don’t go as often as we used to. Got a small and ended up with ice cream barely cresting the cup. The sign shows a good few inches above in a swirl. Not getting a tape measure out but at least come close!!! They no longer serve specially items Carvel is famous for. All they have is the usual cakes, ice cream and a few flying saucers at a staggering $3 per. NO OTHER ITEMS AVAILABLE. Might as well just turn it into a regular Ice cream parlor and leave off the Carvel name as they are tarnishing it.

There is a reason Carel invented the soft serve and ice cream cakes because their stuff is fantastic! It’s not ice cream, it’s soft serve custards and they have great flavors! The cookie batter with Carmel on top was very delicious! I had classic chocolate with hot fudge on top.
