The food is outstanding, and the restaurant is impeccably clean—truly spotless. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, and the quality of the food is exceptional. Their atmosphere is great and they even nailed down the attention to detail in putting their restaurant name on their napkins, cups, plates, and even silverware! It’s such a nice touch. It’s hands down the best Chinese food in the area. We’ve always gone to their Waterloo location and happily drive from out of town when we want authentic Chinese cuisine. I’m thrilled that there’s now a location in Cedar Falls as well. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the owners choice of using good quality food and dishware as well as decor. It reminded me of how restaurant used to be growing up. Made it a good experience to dine there. The service was excellent there too and the employees were friendly. The food tasted really good and there’s plenty of choices.

The guy at the front door open the door for me and Mom, which was really nice. The waitress didn’t know English that well it was hard to understand her. However, the food was disgusting. It was the worst Chinese food I ever had. I usually finish my plate and I only took like five bites cause I was hungry. The food is bland, literally barely any flavor. The chicken my mom had looked really slimy. It was really gross. I took a bite of it and it taste it worse than hospital food. I don’t see a place to add pictures, but I took them

Excellent staff, excellent presentation, super beautiful, clean and new! Great place to stop off for some fast Chinese food that leaves you feeling great and not heavy.

Was so excited to try this new Chinese restaurant in CF! Lovely new building, felt like a chinese subway. Had a friendly attentive server….but the food really disappointed us! Both the egg drop and hot & sour soup were really bad. Served cold and no flavor. I asked for the manager to point out the cold and blah soups. They apologized but did nothing to make it better. The egg roll was worse than anything you would buy at a fast food chain. Order my normal …but this dish was basically flavorless, very BLAND! This is the FIRST time i didn’t need to ask for a take home container for leftovers … since the portions were much smaller than other Chinese restaurants. We feel generous giving it 3 stars. I would compare this food to Hy-Vee…..blah! Maybe worse. Good news is they only have no where to go but UP.

Both the egg drop and hot & sour soup were ok, but lacking flavor. The crab rangoons were good, but kinda pricey. I ordered the kung pao chicken, my go-to….it was chock full of carrots and very little other vegetables, there was plenty of chicken…but this dish was basically flavorless, very BLAND! My friend ordered beef lo mein…it only had 4-5 pieces of beef in it, not flavorful at all. This is the FIRST time i didn’t need to ask for a take home container for leftovers … since the portions were much smaller than other Chinese restaurants. We feel generous giving it 3 stars. Food was great and order for pickup was ready extremely fast. Fried rice and Egg drop soup (Large for both) had very generous serving sizes, just the two combined would feed 3-4 adults.

Such a welcome addition to Cedar Falls! The food was flavorful and not greasy or rushed like so many takeout places. Portions are generous too.
Also worth noting is that you don’t feel like just another order number here… They actually care about making sure you enjoy your meal.
If you’re in CF and craving Chinese food, Golden China is absolutely worth checking out. We’ll definitely be back!

Country Tough
Waitress didn’t have time for our table. Left dirty soup bowls on the table when served the food. Egg drop soup had no flavor had to put hot mustard and soy in it. The table next to us came in after us and was served their food at the same time. My dish was lukewarm to cold in spots. The dish had set so long the sauce had concealed on top. Went all the way thru dinner with no refills on water. Prices were very high in my opinion. Will not be going back.
