Came to No.39 because of the tripa tacos. I ordered a potato & tripa instead. I was Hopeing for a potatoe loaded with tripa since i ordered everything on the side so it dont get skimped. Well turns out the potatoe was DRY, slightly BURNT & BARELY any TRIPAS.. &to top it all off 2orders of fajita 1 on corn ,1 on flour & the tripia potaoe was a WHOPPING $45.00!! WHAAAT!! Ill go if invited ( & after the warning) but never on my own

The tacos had great flavor. I got the combo that came with 4 fajita, papa and a drink and it was delicious. The beans were fire, the papa was good as well. It also came with some sides before u get ur food and those were something I have never seen or tried and it was so good.. definitely recommend and definitely will be coming again!!!!!

DONT JUST THINK ABOUT IT! GOOOO‼️
I give this a place a 5 star! Service was amazing food was great! Some places I skip the beans served before your meal BUT THESE beans were so good I would’ve asked for more, if I didn’t get the 5 tacos. Everything was juicy! Servers checked on us frequently just to make sure u have all the bells and whistles and that’s what’s important because some places just take ur order and u never see them while u are in need of cilantro, limes, dollop of sour cream etc. But honestly, sauce, chips, salt&pepper is all in front of u on the table, and the servers get u beans, chips, & limes! Money well spent! Only bad thing about them is I wish I was closer!

I had a quick bite to eat at Taqueria 39 on 495 and Taylor road in Mission. It’s a small taqueria, ( then again most are) with a modern vibe. Nice artworks, hanging lights, and practical seating. I ordered Trumpo tacos and a diet coke. Once I ordered and sat down a selection of salsas were brought to the table, as well as, a cup of beans. I was told the Habenero and pineapple salsa is only served on the weekend, It was one of the best salsas I’ve had in some time, It was really good. My tacos arrived along with the baked potato I ordered, my potato was cold, not even warm, but it was replaced by a steaming one. The tacos had tender pork on soft corn tortillas, were well seasoned, and came with grilled onions. The Tacos were pretty good. I wish they were the traditional six tacos normally served in the RGV, but only four on the plate. I really liked the place and I want to bring my wife to eat here, she loves tacos.

It was a nice start to the meal with a small cup of soup and some chips. The cilantro and pineapple toppings tasted great on the tacos. The TV programming was too violent for children. (There was a couple of tables with young children there at the time.) The tacos tasted good.

Adios and Goodbye Taqueria 39, ….$12.40 for 5 small tacos, $2.76 for the drink and $15.50 for 4 small tacos, a potato and drink is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, add $2.53 tax plus $1.23 just for using your bank card is WAY TOO MUCH; the total was $34.42.
On top of that, they also ask for a tip. Wife and I could’ve eaten a nice sit down fully waited on dinner for less than this. The meat quality has also gone down, I had to spit out several pieces of fat and nerve from the meat which I never had to do before. This was the last time that we will give these people business.

The food here is delicious and it is one of the best espadas I have tried in the RGV. However, it is very pricey for what it is. The owner of the place also pushes a lot for tips and if you do not tip to their liking, they make it very obvious they are upset about it.

It’s OKAY nothing great about it, the place itself was horribly decorated grey walls with random canvas’. The tacos were okay. The Torta bread was super hard and the fajita in it was cold. I wouldn’t recommend the hotdog at all.
